Steering column reinstall woes

Ok, Finally got the steering column back in the car and mostly bolted back up. Problem now is the two lower mounting tabs on the column don't line up with the studs in the firewall. All 3 nuts have been installed on the grommet and the two bolts on the top slots are in but now I can't through any amount of force or finess get the bottom two bolts to align with their studs. Anyone run into this?

Did you tighten certian bolts all the way before you got to those tabs. You should loosely thread each bolt then tighten afterwards. I have done this with my s13 and had no problems.

have to try again when i get off work. It seemed like it was binding. It was a bastard to get the rubber column grommet to line up with its studs.
