Sideways Sundays Technical Guidelines
Sideways Sundays is a Grass Roots event intended to give Drifters of all ability levels the opportunity to develop their skills on the Famous House of Drift course at Toyota Speedway Irwindale. For the Beginning and Intermediate Drifters who will not be drifting on the banking this basic tech list will get you started. However, it is by no means complete and just like your driving skills you always want to be improving the mechanical capabilities of your car. Learn more at ZILVIA, SOCAL DRIFT and by consulting the rules books for XDC and Formula Drift.
Beginner/Intermediate Tech List
• Battery properly secured and positive terminal covered
• Engine compartment free of loose items (air filter, hoses, wires, etc)
• No fluid leaks or exposed wires
• Brake lights function properly (at least two red functioning brake lights)
• Seat properly mounted and secure
• Seatbelts properly mounted and secure
• Brake pads and rotors in good condition (min 40% thickness)
• Tires are road-worthy and safe (min 3/32 tread depth, no sidewall damage)
• Wheels and wheel bearings are tight and road worthy
• Windshield is free of cracks which might obstruct the driver’s vision
• Helmet is SNELL certified M95 or SA95 or newer and free of damage

• Long pants that cover the driver’s lower body from hips to below the ankles are required

XDC/Formula Drift Drivers
All Drifters who expect to drift on the banking individually or in tandem will be expected to meet the basic tech list shown above, as well as the technical guidelines laid out in the XDC and Formula Drift rules books. Technical inspectors will be paying particular attention to the following sections of each rule book:
XDC
All provisions listed under Section 4.0 Technical Requirements and Section 5.0 Safety Equipment.
Formula Drift
All provisions listed under Section 6 Technical Inspection, Section 7 Required Safety Equipment and Section 8 Competition Vehicles.
If you have any questions regarding any of these guidelines please contact us prior to the event or speak with our technical staff the day of the event. Our goal is to provide an event that allows each driver to get the maximum amount of track time possible.

still going on boys and girls. Clean up your ride, bring it, have fun talking, choose what you want to eat out of the 8! food trucks coming.
Most of the events will be done around the track.
As for the drifting participation for you drifters, I'm speculating the fees will be paid on-site but not too sure yet. Will update soon!

I'm so confused!
The first post says there's amateur drifting, and that there won't be amateur drifting?

seems like NO drifting for amateurs as well.

Drifting:
There will be a Drifting section for Amateurs and Pros and will be organized by Adams Motorsports.
Expect to see famous drifters. (Sam Hubinette, Rhys Millen, Tanner Foust, etc.)

*Amateur Drifters will need to pay a fee to enter. More information will be provided later on.

*Schedule (will update if changed):
8am - Show Cars and Drifters entering time. (Drifter fee: $80 -> Might change)
- w/ Drifting instructor - (fee:$20 -> Might change)
- professional drifters will participate depending on the day of the event. More than likely there will be a few for the first event.

11am - Gates open to the public

5pm - Awards, Ceremonies, etc. etc.
FOOD TRUCKS WILL BE THERE!!! (Attending Food Trucks will be listed later on)

most of the events will be held around the track, and this is the first time ever an event is happening by the following companies/organization.

Night-Import will no longer 'promote' this event due the fact that we aren't getting any credit for the promoting on forums. (Event itself will still happen monthly)
This will be our final update just to inform you guys what will happen this week b/c non of the organizations are updating the info except the facebook event page.
The upcoming event on Feb 27th, 2011 got postponed because of the weather.
Please contact any of the organizations for updated informations. Thanks!

How are you guys not getting any credit for promoting if you're the one that started the thread. I'm confused

the event itself is still going on no matter what. We were 'promoting' because night-import was the first site to know about this event and b/c we were registered in many forums. Long story short, we didn't receive any credit for what we did, which is why we finally decided to stop promoting the event on forums.
However, please do know the event itself will be going on no matter what and we encourage you guys to go.
The next event will be on the 27th of March, and from what I've heard, the postponed event will be on the 20th of March. Call any of the organizations for more information.

what part of the event do you want to know more about?
it's pretty simple.
Roll-in for car show participants and drifters is between 8-9am. You will be directed to YOUR area. Drifting will start as listed in the time schedule. $80 is for the whole day. Each session is an hour and a half long and there will be 3 sessions .

If you need to know more, please let me know.

Each *RUN* will be 20sec? and 1hr 30min session x3 so a 3 hour day? right?

No video in the preview - will the infield be like a figure eight? Or will the layout be like in FD and all other events there?

I hope the infield is used like at NOS - if you're down hit the bank if not practice in the infield

As simple as the course was, it was pretty fun. It was tweaked a bit from the picture though. The rain definitely made it a bit more difficult that it should have been, but being able to link the two sweepers with just one switchback was nice. Without the slick surface, I know my NA wouldn't have been able to hold the switchback out for that long, lol.
Fun event, already told Riley my suggestions for the next time around. Sucks it rained for real this time. Hope to make it to the next one.

so I had 3 runs, got there late at 840, track didn't go hot til 1030?1040? after they told us no shorts... and I paid 80 bucks for 3 laps, really pissed about that and why did the lay out change? I'm not a noob but it went from noob friendly to intermediate. not fair to the people who are learning. also Wth is up with doing tech twice????

I'm also not happy about that the one guy who runs it, he blamed it all on irwindale and he wouldn't give us any money back for people who had only one or two runs. not only that, the Mc was talking smack about the noobies (I think its the same guy) saying how he didn't know it was a grip event. he was also saying after everyone leaves he was gonna fish in recycle bins for metal cans so he can make a quick 100 bucks... Wth really?

really disapponted by this event, I will not attend this event ever again because it seems like the people at the top are not passionate or concerned for the people who are out there driving.

What happened to drifting? people used to care so much for eah others well being, didn't feel that at this event from the people at the top.

I vouch for this.. every word this man speaks is the truth! Fail of an event only got 4-5 runs out of 5 hours... i paid like 20 bucks per run... very disappointed.

Horrible. And the comments the Dj was saying was so uncalled for.

I wonder what he was saying when I was driving, probably nothing bad cause I didn't do horrible... but I know what he was saying to other people about their driving and how it's "not a grip event".

I am seriously not showing up to another event organized by him. He didn't even care if people got one run! HE Tried to blame it on irwindale!!!!!!!! wth.

Worst event ever ! D.j was very disrespectful and track time sucked I feel soo ripped off I will never be attending another event orginized by them and i feel comfortable saying my friends feel the same way. These people just care about money. 80 bucks to do 4 runs and get treated bad by d.j cause I was a biginer. I rather pay almost double and drive out to willow then to ever do another event with these guys ...I really feel we should get some kind of refund fuck ill take w.e ..I spend 80 on runs 20 on jeans and 50 on gas

kouki3015
07-31-2011, 08:38 PM
yea.. i only got 4 runs in as well. $80 for 4 runs is DEFINITELY not worth it. I did enjoy the short moments on the track though. There were almost 80 drivers there... WTF. There should've been a limit to how many drivers there should be for registration. I was told the event starts at 10 and ends at 5. Track didn't even open up for us until around 10:40 and ended at 3:30pm... BULLSHIT. Never again will I support Sideway Sunday. MAYBE if they become more organized and care a LITTLE less about their profit. Until then.. FUCK YOU, DAYTIME ROBBERS.

I'm am disappointed on this sideways sunday(7/31) compared to the previous sideways sunday's because I and many of the drivers only had about a quarter of seat time compare to the previous!

I will start with The Bad:

Event was unorganized

Event did NOT START ON TIME

Had to tech Twice for some odd reason

Spectators should NOT HAVE TO PAY WHEN ITS SAME PRICE AS CARSHOW, might as well park any car in the show.

I wear shorts to all the of previous sideways sundays which I had attended all of them and ALL OF A SUDDEN NO SHORTS ALLOW or you will NOT be able to drive AFTER DRIVERS HAS PAID...(PLZ ADD IT ON THE FLYER NEXT TIME OR LET DRIVERS KNOW IN ADVANCE) It's a hot summer day and if NOT TOLD, EXPECT PPL TO WEAR SHORTS!

$80 dollars for 4 laps, thats at most 5 mins on track and $20 per lap.

It's be nice if the event was cheaper with this amount of drivers and while we were all in drivers meeting they SAID THIS EVENT IS FOR YOU GUYS, sure did not feel like it with this many mistakes!

This is by far the worst sideways sunday...

The Good:

Big bank and Small Bank

NOS energy drinks

CAR SHOW

TROPHIES

Dj Pow with music

Activities for spectators and gifts

watch drifting/drifting

close to home(FOR SOME)

Lots of Media, BIG THX FOR THE COVERAGE GUYS! ;)

‎"NEXT TIME SIDEWAYS SUNDAY NEEDS TOO BE ORGANIZED AND ON TIME AND IF THEIRS GOING TO BE AS MANY DRIVERS AS TODAY FOR THE NEXT SIDEWAYS SUNDAY, DROP THE PRICE IF THIS EVENT IS REALLY FOR THE DRIVERS(DRIFTERS)!"

Is Adam's Motorsports Milking???

Yes, i think its a combined milking of irwindale and adam's tho....adams doesnt wanna get "chewed out" by the track. I hope all the drivers express their anger about the event and chew them out instead. Dont think there was ONE satisfied driver lol

This event is only cool for hype.Becuz thats what it is

I honestly think that everything was as expected....

There is usually a bad turn out and this means more track time to those that showed up.

Had everyone stopped and thought about the fact that if over 100 cars showed up it would equal less track time, not as many bad comments would be left here.

The guys at Adam's really do put on a great event. it takes a lot of work and commitment to organize something like this. Although the amount paid compared to the amount of track time is unjust, it was a simple case of common sense. Its like going to Disneyland on a Saturday and being pissed for having to wait in long lines.

In my opinion, I think having an event where you divide advanced and novice drivers would be the best idea. A big part of the day was watching guys spin out and try to recover only to keep spinning. If you separate the 2, you could have a lot more track time and less complaining. Of course it comes down to a location to hold such an event...

I had a great time and got to make my farmer's tan even more intense. I had a blast watching all of the dedication out there.

Looking forward to the next one. Maybe I'll get major track time now that noone is showing up for it after reading all of these comments LOL

What a waste of time, for us that are from SD, we caravanned up there. moved back the time for the caravan back to 6am (2hour drive) to get there exactly at 8 like they wanted us to. Only to have the gates closed, could've slept another half-hour.

Once they let us in, at 9-ish, the double tech/number confusion began. So unorganized on both Adam's as organizers and Irwindale as Host's.

Then the stupid shorts/jeans rule, I had heard from people last time that there was a mention of having to wear pants so i brought some, even though it was supposed to be 90*F. But they really should've announced it before hand, they new it was coming and they needed to inform drivers.

Finally at almost 11AM the track goes hot (almost an hour behind schedule) for "odd" numbers. So is this our original big number we got in line or the other smaller written number we got at 2nd tech, people were confused, once again miscommunication and unorganized. Then the DJ starts blabbering of about it not being a grip event, STFU! we don't want to hear you.

I was an even number, so i didn't even get on track till 1pm-ish? And then to have the s14 wreck. Really 45 minute+ clean up? I heard they even painted the wall, WTF?! Got my 3 runs in, finally.

Then odds up again, this is where there was "favoritism" there was some people who definitely went twice this round and had more then 3 the first time because they knew the Adams people or something, and also I didn't count but i think the pros went more than 4 times to, I think they were in both groups. Nothing against them, its cool to run along side them but still make them have a same run time or whatever.

Then I was prepping my car for the evens second turn and I didn't even hear them announce our group. showed up and people in my group run one and leave, I find a tech and complain how I haven't gotten my second group and he say's, "I don't even know what's going on, honestly." I chill with him and find another tech/organizer with a walkie and he calls in and they let me in for a single run. Get up to the line and the guy there says "only one run, the event was scheduled for a total of 4 runs/person. 3 the first time and 1 the second" I was pissed that it was $20/ lap for me, and everyone considering each lap is what 45 secs?

Not worth the money and I wont be going to another one unless its discounted for the people that went to this horribly organized event, or until i hear feedback of a smooth running event by having a drivers cap/limit.

sideways sundays Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sideway-Sundays/147666695298021)

from there wall

REGARDING TRACK TIME: Just like any show - regardless of how good (or bad it can be), there will always be room for improvements and complaints. And being the Sideway Sundays Events staff are grass-roots, our fans are important to us. We listen and consider all concerns and issues the people bring to us.

Most being about the "DRIFT RUNS" - Troy from Adams Motorsports Park stated to us to remember it's not ALL professionals. A mix-match of rookies to pros...so the lost time is made from spin-outs and crashes (which we hope NEVER happens but it does. (Like Today.) So hopefully drifters take that into consideration and remember everyone starts somewhere. If everyone were PROS and it was a PERFECT day it'd be 30 second runs and picture perfect drift day! But unfortunately, things happen and that causes delays and sometimes the track is stopped for MORE time during a crash! Nonetheless, these concerns were discussed and possible alternatives and improvements will be taken to the next event. Thank you again to ALL supporters! See you @ next Sideway Sundays @ Irwindale Speedway!

As for "GREED"? Please take into consideration that this is a BIG VENUE - not a small venue. And we know it's a great opportunity for everybody to have their chance to run on the EXACT track where many pros run...let alone run WITH pros. We do not control costs and the venue itself. Unfortunately, if we did we would run it picture-perfect for everyone to be happy. It is an event FOR the people by reputable grass-roots companies and affiliates. If we can make it "cheaper" we will...

LOL...

Here's a tip.. Do a pre-registration + limit on number of drivers, and you won't run into the 80+ drivers dilemma. Unless you care more for making a profit than satisfying the drivers. It would even be more awesome if you guys are willing to compensate the drivers from the last event with at least a free meal or something at your next event for overcharging us over $20 per lap and LYING to us about the run time (start late, end early). It would turn SOME frowns upside down.

thanks for the pic mr.cakes! lolol

as for the event...I don't think I'll be participating in another one again...$80 for 3 runs was pathetic. I was there when the gates opened...what happen to 7am registration? gates didn't even open till 8ish...

there needs to be a driver cap, better grouping, 1 time tech as I had to be re-tech'd after my second run..apparently I didn't have the 3 digit number on my windshield..maybe 2 courses running at the same time..alot of unnecessary time wasted...i'm better off paying the extra $30-$40 and driving up to willow springs..disappointing.

Also, Ive been starting to read people complaining about the track, I actually really liked it, but again execution of the track made it unsmooth running. heres a lame paint version of the track layout,
http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/7682/irwindaleidea.jpg
red for bank and blue for amateur. I really liked the layout but its a long track for one person at a time.

I dont know regulations that they go through but since they seem to be accepting ideas ill see if i can get people to agree with me.

Have 2 or 3 run groups, beginner/intermediate/advance and write it in there window (A/B/I). A- gets to ride bank(like they had the B for this event). They should be allowed to tandem if they want (they are "advanced").

I- should do the whole blue outline, and be allowed to drift it all. And to make things go quicker, run "2 at a time". Not tandem, but once a person passes the yellow line I drew, let the next person go, if the person spins right before the "manji" hold him for a quick second or wave a yellow flag, you have them use them and speak about them in drivers meetings. I feel like the two areas are pretty seperated and could be ran 2 at a time like described without any problem. Any one thats done balcony would know they "wait" in the back straigth till the other person finishes the course to go, so something like that would make things smoother sailing.

And beginners, theyre the "future" of drifting so let them in, but only allow them to run the layout similar to the first sideways sunday had, wich is outlined in green in my map. its only an "s-turn" but for people that are beginning I feel like its good enough, people were trying to link the sweeper and the manji and then the iniation to the s and kept spining so bringing down difficulty for begineers would help seat time.

Im pretty sure if they had a DJ that wasn't a jerk, and supported the beginners there would be people that say, "yeah its my first or second time and i don't feel comfortable doing the whole track" nothing to be embarrassed of, we've all been there.

And they cant be afraid to move people, someone keeps messing up in "i" bring him down, someones doing good in "B" and asks to move up let him. This, I think, will allow them to keep drivers coming back.

Just my idea, or how i would run it, but yeah. good to see at least you guys are listening to whats going on. Props on that.

woke up at 430 and pulled my ride on a trailer from palm springs in a freaking thunderstorm. Got there early thinking that the schedule will be met and i would not have to wait in line too much to register.. NO, had to wait 2 hrs in the parking lot, another hour making line to pay, got teched twice. Finally get on track at 10:30, wait in line again behind a guy who already had a lap. took one lap and was told to head out to the pits. I think they did some even odd number bs, and even were first to go in and guess what, i was odd. took about another hour and a half to get another lap in. at the end i only got 4- 20 second runs. Thats $20 for an 8th of a mile run. And im just a beginner, first time on any kind of track, and to hear the mic talk shit to the people that were like me, that shit aint cool. I think for all the trouble and money spent, i rather just drive up to willow and get my moneys worth.:whip:

oh and PRO'S? there was what only 2? jeff jones nd the BMW? JOKE.
anyways they should have focused more on the driving .
i was speaking with some of the workers at the track and he said he has no idea whats going on, the event is not organized AND being ran poorly. i asked him about tandem nd he said "well hell i dont know HAHA they have been "setting" it up for about 2 hours now.
THIS EVENT IS A FUCKING JOKE. i will not want to run the next event. 80-100 ALL DAY AT WILLOW WITH LOTS OF SEAT TIME..

i never went to an adams event. I remember when they first started it almost 3 years ago. it was cool, and FREE. then they started charging about 4 months into it and that was GAY. you hear me? GAY. Anyway, I never knew how super GAY adam's was until i experienced it in the butt hole.

Sorry I shouldn't be so mean. some people from adam's are pretty damn cool but I didn't see that person this sunday. Not sure if he's still with Adam's or not.

lol he got smacked by the wing at the end.....

idk, i wasn't able to make it to the event bcuz i fucked up my ankle the day before...i planned on driving and everything but based on what EVERYONES been saying im glad i didnt make it..it seem like things were unorganized being that all cars had to be teched twice and whatnot...

i mean for as big event as it was and as big a track it is and not everyone being pro track time would clearly be minimal since most people would be spinning out as im sure was the case...

I PERSONALLY, like the parking lot Irwindale drift events...they were more fun i think..

idk, ive never been to adams track so idk how they run things there, and i only did 2 Irwindale parking lot events that i think wer set up by Riley i believe..

last time i was at any kind of Irwindale private drift event was like 2 years ago when Naoki organized and ran it and i dont think ANYONE had ANYTHING bad to say about how that was run...

either way, what happened happened and its over now so oh well..

WOW WORST EVENT EVER! still fuming at the event. I attended the event at irwindale. had over 80 drivers paying 80$ each and everyone ONLY GOT 2 laps!!!!!! THAT IS JUST RIDICULOUS!

Everyone basically paid $40 / lap to drive the infield at irwindale!

The event organizers offered no refund, just gave the drivers the finger and took all of our money.

The even is UNORGANIZED and a complete MONEY GRAB by Tory Adams the event organizer! I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK.

If you want to spend 6 hours in the summer sun BAKING TO DEATH only to get 2 runs in for 80$. Be my guest.

This is the WORST EXP OF MY LIFE!:fawkd:

FUCK Troy. he's been fucking drivers left and right for the last 3 years including the guys who first started the event.

When the even first started there 3 years ago i was there for the first day. Small tight nit group of guys. Slowly as the community got together, it became bigger and bigger and Troy adams got butter fingers and started charging 5000$ a night and squeezed out the original guys who started the event there. Troy told them to f off and STOLE their show!

Now he takes it over like he thought of the idea and is fucking drivers left right and center. He made a cool 15,000$ from Sideways Sundays and in the process fucked over 80+ drivers! FU SIR :fawkd:

about 2 month ago, he took his wife to Bali, Indonesia for like 2 weeks. Rented a PHAT house there and lived up life. That money is the money that the drifting community made him. He didn't give shit back to the drivers. Just keep taking and taking.

08-05-2011, 03:45 PM
Yes, that's Troy for him. He said it 3-4 times that night. Total two faced piece of shit.

Drifters made that event happen. For that event he banked easily 15k too.

2000 spectators at 5 or 7$ a head i don't remember + 30 drivers / hr at $20/ hour and also vendors. That's more like 13-15K

Then he told the drifters to fuck off? I DONT THINK SO.

After this stink got out. He's been going around the track sucking everyone's dick saying how he didn't mean what he said, he was just "playing". A lot of the good drivers stopped coming by after that.

Also under age drinking is rampant there.

I hope he pays taxes for this shit. I going to get the IRS on his ass. :fawk::naughtyd:

Oh well. Im filing a complaint with IRS as we speak. get some heat on this piece of shit.

After all its almost 100% cash business. Easy to skim off the top. After I give them some info on what each event is pulling in, they'll be taking a closer.. much closer look in on the mater. Also my father in law has one of his best friend as an auditor for the IRS. I spoke with him last night and he emailed me a forum to fill in and send in to IRS Fresno Ca audit field office :madfawk:

also filing a complaint with other california and federal agencies. 80% of the people that work there DONT get paid, or Troy say they will get paid and he fucks them out of their money. I think the employment board will want to hear about the shit that goes on there also.

Maybe the city counsel will want to hear about whats going on at the track with under age drinking and drug use... maybe the local news would want to hear about it. lets get some fucken bad rep on this place and this piece of shit.

fuck Troy :fawkd: :fawkd: :fawkd: :fawkd:, you don't know how far people your fucking with will go. :fawkd: :fawkd: :fawkd: :fawkd:

And straight up lies, other people have events at Irwindale all the time, and it isnt a lot to organize it, its just over 5K, which is about 5 times what balconey cost at WSIR, and just over 2 times what HTM cost.

Not sure on the NOS center cost per day.

we need to start linking this tread to other forums. that way this shit gets out on the web and community.

Troy and adams already has HORRIBLE rep with the automotive and grass roots drifting community in socal. The sponsors such as nos and others will not want their GOOD name and brand associated with a shit bag like Troy. I have no idea why monster is signed with Troy. If anything monster should tell troy to fk off and sign with the grass roots drivers in the community. I wonder what smoke troy blew in monsters ass to get them to sign.

Troy blows smoke up everyone's ass he meets, guess monster was too stupid to realize it.

Nos is smart, they pulled out of adams. I pitty monster who bought into troys bull shit he sold them on.

Spread the work, tag this thread, link it to over forums your on. We need to get the word out so this douch bag does not live a comfy life off the backs of drivers. :nono::nono::nono: :mephfawk:

let me clarify a few things on what drifttime has stated, mainly about the beginning of the whole adams thing.

wes and myself worked with adams on hosting the events there originally, Wes was the head guy and asked me to help him out on it, i did and the events started up and were doing well, after other issues which i feel is not my job to speak on, i was offered a job(yes a paid one) to work at adams to manage the drift program.

i did so for about a year until i was approached by falken where i work now.

the other employees that work at adams are paid and that is all legit, now as far as any course workers i dont work there anymore so i dont ask, not my business and i wont assume anything.

from time to time they have asked me to for a lack of a better word consult with them on some events which i gladly have.

this is my side of the story on some of the smaller issues drifttime has stated, i been around this darn community from the beginning and i have to say it still is a great one, most of you i know personally some i dont. i wasnt at the event so i cant state anything that happend there.

i hope these issues can be resolved and life move forward.

anyways see you dudes around!

that was through rudy at Inland drift, he rented the facility until he secured his lot over in perris, nothing was ever offered or discussed prior to Wes and i approaching them for a weekly deal.

the parking lot layout was simple and fun..wide enough and fun for multiple car tandem and easy enough for beginners to learn to get the hang of transitioning and whatnot..

i personally had a blast at the 2nd Friday Night Lights Drift event..2nd layout was better then the first but even the 1st layout was fun the 1st fnl event...you can still hold a car show and do whatever wet T-shirt contest best pole dance contest you want....

The friday night drift even was way better than the current sidways sundays. Cheap, enough seat time for everyone and it was more driver orientated instead of $$$$ for Troy oriented.:spank:

The bottom line is Adam Kart Track, Thursday Night dirft, and Sideways sundays is a personally piggy bank for Troy Adams.

Dont believe the shit Tory tells anyone there. This guy has told EVERYONE there that he will hook you up with A, B, C, sponsorship and get you hook ups on this and that.

its 100% pure :bs:

The ONLY SPONSORSHIP HE HAS GOTTEN was the $$$$ deals for HIMSELF.

Troy is a two faced bitch. He does not give a flying f* about drifting, drifters, drivers. All he cares about is the $ and will suck your dick and to get you to come and once you are there and after you paid, its all "fuck the drivers"

BOYCOTT the sideways Sundays even cause its shit to start with. 2 runs for 85$.... please..... the infield at irwindale isnt that fun.

Fk also boycott thursday night drift also. All the good drivers don't go there cause troy's a complete prick behind their backs. Only drivers are the local guys trying to get some seat time. Rarely will you see exciting drivers going balls out...

If you want to see good drifting go to willow. Dont fund this piece of shit and his 2 week trip to Thailand.:mephfawk:

F Troy adams, F adams drift park, F SIDEWAYS SUNDAYS - 2 runs for $85! :mephfawk:

btw just remember. Last adams drift comp about a month ago, they charged $75 / driver.... so i think about 25 drivers showed up......

first place got a LOUSY $300. SECOND PLACE GOT nothing. Third place got NOTHING

so do the math. 75$ X 25 drivers = 1850$$$$$

paid out $300.... so Troy the piece of shit just went home that night with 1550$ OF THE DRIFTERS MONEY!!!! FUCK THAT BITCH!

Could have given first place 500$ second place 300$ and third place 200$ and this mother fucker son of abitch would STTTIILLLLLLL! have walked home with 850$ easy!

This just goes to show HOW FUCKEN GREEDY this cunt is,.

ill talk to the guys and see what is possible, i think if corrections are made on the sideways sundays and run groups are broken up in to hourly sessions (A and B) groups with and extended track run time say 10a-9p it can work, the main problem is getting irwindale to open when we need them to and on time.

as for mr drifttime, care to enlighten me on who your are via PM? just wondering as your only speaking about every negative thing rather then offering any feedback that can be addressed and corrected. there are certain things i agree on with you but without offering any way to fix a problem then nothing changes. call me crazy but im just trying to logical about it.

That parking lot has got to be cheaper than the track and I know the pro guys loved the tandem in there. FD is nice but only 4 guys were able to use the big bank and 95% of drivers were unable to hit the small bank and the little monza and few had power to keep is going in the S turn. I would much prefer to see us in the parking lot. Many of the people I spoke too said they felt way safer in the lot. That s14 ontop of the wall didn't healp either.

Doing both the lot and track would split everyone too much. Track and a skid pad could be nice but I dont think there is room. Do you guys have a forum where we can all b!tch and moan, and talk post to post with the people organizing?

i know people from AMP read this and i have forwarded it to them as well, i dont like to see events like this as much as you guys dont, so if changes are able to be made im sure they will be.i mean if in reality only 10 people run the big bank i say just run the infield if they insist on staying inside the stadium.

i think the main problem with the P lot is re stripping the lines.

Hi Riley.

your the only legit one I remember back in the days at adams. :2f2f:

I'm just a washed up drifter :naughty: who is speaking out on what is on everyone's mind

How can you fix a dictatorship to become a democracy? You can't. The dictator needs to be removed BEFORE change can be made.

The bottom line is the events CANNOT be fixed when the goal is lining the pockets of Troy Adams. :picardfp:

If it was for drifters, by drifters than EVERYTHING can be changed since the goal is for the community to improve and enjoy the events. Maybe lower the price down to $40 instead of 85, OR run longer hours, OR have a driver cap, OR run twin tracks OR have more PAID staff so that the even is more organized OR give bigger prize money. :bigok:

But if troy is in the equation the event cant be repaired since NON of the suggestions made above would fly since it would cut down on trip to Tailand $$. The event cant be fixed BUT it CAN be killed.

Join me in killing this bull shit event. Spread the word and lets get something else better in place of sideways sundays.

yes please forward this to the correct people, they need to know that raping the community for the last 3 years comes at a cost. Its time to speak up and BOYCOTT!!!!!!

i think (and im sure many others would agree) that the parking lot events should be brought back...yes the oval and FD layout is fun and all but come on, how many people are actually good enough to be able to clear the whole track and NOT spin...

the parking lot layout was simple and fun..wide enough and fun for multiple car tandem and easy enough for beginners to learn to get the hang of transitioning and whatnot..

i personally had a blast at the 2nd Friday Night Lights Drift event..2nd layout was better then the first but even the 1st layout was fun the 1st fnl event...you can still hold a car show and do whatever wet T-shirt contest best pole dance contest you want....

come on Riley can you try an make something like that happen again?....pweeaasssseee...me make you happy ;p lol

yes sir, bring it back :D

40 cars per session, its listed on the schedule.

I remember at the second Sideways Sunday, when it was 20 cars per session, making 40 cars total all day, I only got 7 runs in, including 3 tandem runs to speed things up. Now you're capping it at double that amount? If it fills up, expect more angry drivers. Just a heads up.

Just took a look at the schedule. Might want to make the driver cap a bit more visible in this thread, as that's what drivers are looking for. Also, the schedule is a bit odd. The way it is set up, does that mean, that 40 driver from session 1 only drift from 9-1:45, with that session divided into 2 groups, and then another 40 drivers drive in session 2 from 2-close, divided within another 2 groups as well?
Does that mean that 1 driver, out of a potential 80 drivers, will technically have only 2 sessions within a single session, in a half day?

There was no confusion with the schedule. Last I recall, the event with 40 drivers and 6 hours of drive time, on a much shorter course had massive wait times. Using a longer course, with the same amount of drivers and less driving time, doesn't make that situation any better. Drivers are paying for a full track event for less than half a day's worth of driving time, as in that 5 hour session, there are 2 run groupd. So ideally, if things go according to schedule, then reall you're hoping for 3 hours of driving with 19 other drivers.
Sounds like a blast to me.

Karlitos

Yeah atleast you made the event longer, and made a rather difficult to understand schedule. Its still the same amount of drivers as the last event where people only got ~3 runs. Now with the "little" extra time maybe hoping for ~5/6 runs? still not worth it for $80.

That was about 8 months before 626 Drift started.

Seriously I think we had like 30 drivers max during that time and everyone had a great time. Naoki wasn't making a killing on the events and really enough to pay the track, insurance, and his time.

To me it seems like Adam's doesn't care if they piss off all of their drivers. No matter how many of us talk shit they are still going to have a packed event. i think that driver count is fair as well, there may be a possiblity of running the P lot and Inner irwindale infield at the same time.. my thought is id like to have 2 run groups and rotate say every 2 hours? so people get enough seat time on each track.

i cant see to many people running the big bank as most dont have a cage up to par.

id like to get that driver count but dont see it as being as possible due to agreements with irwindale.

remember that Irwindale is paid first for track rental/ fire crew and there staffing.

then it goes downhill, so many assume that its a HUGE cash cow, i can say its not as intense as many make it out to be.

Thanks Riley- this has the potential to be a really fun event, but it needs some serious rethinking...

perhaps 1st/2nd gear course for beginner/intermediate drivers in the parking lot, and a bank / fd course inside for the advanced & caged drivers? 30 drivers tops per course with 2 run groups each should give shorter wait times and more runs!

I've never gone to an Adams track event so I cant say anything about the way things are run there so I won't...but if it's anything like what happened then I don't hink I'd ever go...

as far as the Irwindale events go, Ioll show up and support the drivers just as I always do and see if things actually get any better but theres no way in hell I'd ever pay to drive in the event until I see progress with staffing and organization with driver groups/runs...as I said before I went to ALL the parking lot events which still had some pretty long lines but nothing compared to what happened last...

either way, good luck to everyone still doing the events and I hope you all atleast have fun with what little you guys are given for your time, money and support.

in reality IF EVERYTHING goes at planned it shouldnt be SUCH a mess. but if you do the math its STILL not worth it. and you know.. i dont think people REALLY care all that much on what track they run and WHAT pros have drifted there.. they DO want there HARD earned money to be put to a GOOD use.
in all honesty i dont see this event starting on time.. i dont think most events do. PLUS there was double tech inspection last time. im going to go WATCH this event NOT run. i have nothing better to do on a sunday. i would rather spend 10$ supporting all the people that do go to drift then TROY himself. they need to do alot more or LOWER the drivers cap to make things better and EVERYONE happy.
