new alternator is making me stall

yesterday i installed a new alternator in my sohc s13 and when i first start the car it will stall unless i keep it reved up above 1.5k...
any idea what would cause such a thing? before this i had no such problem

Glad to be of service..BTW i think your battery just needed a few minutes to charge up.
