Quick question. I'm going to design a new intake manifold for SR motors. I rather ask than look around to see what you guys say.

Are the runners the same on red/black tops as the notch tops. Also what about the valves.

Thanks guys

S13 red or black tops are high-port, and flow better than the S14/15 blacktops, which are low-port.

This is SR20 basics 101, you might want to do a little more research before you go designing something as important to the engine's power delivery as an intake manifold.

You might do better designing an intake for the SR20VE head for RWD applications. There is more of a market, as only Mazworx and Xcessive currently offer them.

Well I do see the need for the vvl, but first things first. I wanted to start on the black top since there is a difference between the two. Pluss I dont see to much marketed for blacktop manifolds. Just a few that I seen. But it doesnt matter. I'm working on some newer idea with some other people that are very experienced. Including some one that helped put Cosworth on the map with there incredible 4 cylinder enhancements back in the day.

Fair enough. Sounds like a plan. Looking forward to seeing this intake.

Yeah we have a dyno, flow bench and any of the other necessary tools for this delicate process. As a person in the aircraft industry, I can ensure I wont offer anything that doesnt work to its full potential.
