hey guys, i recently bought a hks hi power cat back and i was wondering on the exact way to install it. will i need to get rid of one of the catalytic converters on my car for it to fit? and if so, does anyone know if theres a good chance of passing smog?

and for the bends, a little exhaust shop my dad and i went to thinks its got too many bends to fit a stock 240. mines a 95 240sx obdII.. and the guy i bought it from had it on his stock ka on a 96 240sx..

basically what im asking is, the exhaust shop i went to is full of shit right? and it should fit no problem? i know exhausts are made with bends for the chassis and not the engine, yet they seem to think its for a "turbo 240sx" only..

You bought a cat-back exhaust system. It bolts up to the factory cat. And whatever exhaust shop you took it to is either a. retarded or b. thinks you're retarded for asking the question of whether it would bolt up or not. Exhausts are chassis specific. S14 fits S14. There's a reason they do that. Only engine specific exhausts out there are generally custom fit/made or high end for specialty swaps say like an LS into a 240 or 2J, etc.....

Take off a few bolts, bolt it up. 45 mins later at the most and you're done.

And smog won't be a problem at all as it doesn't remove emissions control devices. Only problem you can have is noise pollution from it being louder.

As mentioned, if its catback and specific to your year it is just a bolt on exhaust...

Nope. Just bolt it up to the cat. That's what its made to do.

bolt it up to the cat or a test pipe, it doesn't matter
