View Full Version : What a shitty day

I always get jealous of reading all these build threads and seeing all your nice ass cars, so I thought hey, why not tell you guys about a day in the life of a poor ass highschool kid with a 240 to show you have much of a piece of shit these cars really are.
So I hop in my car sunday morning to drive to work and i notice that my clutch has a little more play than usual. I shrug it off and didn't think much off it. After a grueling 8 hour shift, all I want to do is get home and watch the Steeler game. NOPE. My clutch has no feeling to it whatsoever, and the car wont go into gear. After driving home for a half hour in stop and go traffic on the highway without a clutch (which was hell), I get home with just enough time to see the tail end of the game.
I planned to skip school the next day and clean out my garage so that I can do some work on my car in this 0 degree weather. I spent 2 hours cleaning our garage to make room for a car, and another hour shoveling the driveway to the back of our house. At 11 am I go to start my car to pull it in the garage, and what a fucking surprise, nothing happens. By some form of fuck-you-for-having-a-240 magic, my battery died. So i think it'll be easy enough to pop the hood and get the battery charged. Wrong. My hood doesn't pop, and i was forced to stay outside in the freezing cold messing with the latch with a pair of pliers. Just when I was about to give up and sell the damn thing, I slammed my first on the hood in anger and it popped. fml.
After a while in the garage i figured i need a new master and slave cylinder. Not too bad. But while all this was happening, I left my phone upstairs. Apparently my girlfriend was trying to get ahold of me all day, and is now pissed at me cause I spent "too much goddamn time with that piece of shit car".
Moral of the story, don't buy a 240. And yes bro, I know it was a cool story.

I think he was being sarcastic. Also, sorry to hear about your crappy day but this thread really belongs in the off topic section. Hopefully you get to the bottom of the issues and get them resolved.

Its the life of have a 20 year old car, or even just modified cars in general. You'll get used to it!
If it makes you feel better, I just bought a FD3S and the engine popped a rotor housing after a few weeks of ownership, even though I only drove the car from his house to mine (~55 miles). I is $1,000 + price of getting it re-ported and price of oil/coolant seals and apex seals to get it running again. The previous owner didn't pay off his loan on the car ($10,000) for me to get a new title...he bought a $14,000 pick-up instead, dispite him being under contract in paying off the loan within 48hours of purchase date (2 Months ago). So right now I can even get tags on my car unless someone pays the owed balence.
So now I have a warrant for his arrest, breach of contract and theft of $10,000. He has ran away and for all I know, left the state.
Im not trying to play the "I need sympathy game", but just showing that there can be worse out there.
Hang in the bro, things will work out.

I have the title, I just didn't get the lien release yet since he never paid off the loan to get a clear title.

I was still on the bus in high school man.... 240 is a cool car to have, wish I had one back in high school. If you have a garage, keep your car in there... its 0 degrees what do you expect, most cars will have stuff freeze over like that....
Cool story though! Just keep working on it!

It's okay, you'll get financial aid one day and you can do all the cool stuff you want to your car! Get rid of the girlfriend she obviously doesn't care about how you feel towards the car. It's hard having two ladies on your arm, pick one. (CAR):keke:

THIS!! Do well in high school, get a few scholarships and voilĂ*! Roll in the extra dough...unless you plan on going to some Ivy League/uppity rich private college.

Agreed. Don't "compromise", put your ambitions before anyone elses (especially a girl's). You'll have plenty of opportunities to trade your balls in later on in life when you get married.
Sucks about your story though, as I like to think for every shitty day there's a really good one.

Not one single person took 5 seconds out of your day to bother Reporting this bullshit.
Yet over 30 of you took at least a minute or so to let this kid know he's a friggin idiot.
I have to admit, I are disappoint.
