iacv is located on the intake manifold close to the firewall. if you still have the stock air intake, the large diameter tube that comes off of it runs under the intake manifold to the iacv. It is really hard to see on the engine. I was looking for it myself and found it easier to see from under the car. To fix it you can either take it off and clean it with carb cleaner or you can crank the car and spray intake cleaner through the large diameter tube while the car is running, making sure it doesn't die. That will clean it as well though not as well as taking it apart.

TPS- throttle, opposite side of throttle cable

IACV- its behind the intake manifold. You have to remove the whole assembly to gain access to try and clean it or replace it.

Clean MAF
Clean TB
Check TPS
Clean IACV

Check firing order.
Check Spark plugs/wires
Check Injectors.

Exactly what was just mentioned. That's what I did to fix my issues.

check vacuum lines and tps. If your tps is toast, the iacv unit will be bypassed.

what do i do to check the tps

u need a volt meter man, and you have to find the fsm for proper voltage of each wire at closed throttle and open.

i have a sohc that had some bogging/hesitation and i was burning rich. i too cleaned the maf, tb, did timing, full tune-up, new fuel hoses, new fuel filter, new fuel rail and i got somewhat better results. however, i still had issues, then i had all the fuel injectors cleaned and calibrated, and no more hesitation.

rc engineering(rceng.com) did the injector cleaning and in their report it was noted that before they cleaned them that only one of my injectors had good spray, while the other 3 were dripping and ALL were below their flow rates. this was obviously why i was hesitating, burning rich, and getting lousy gas mileage. i paid $96 to clean/calibrate all 4 and i got them back in 2 days. their service also includes new injector filter, o ring and insulator.

could it be that all my injecters read 11.2 ohm's except one it reads 10.1

maybe, im no mechanic.....all i know is that my 22 year old injectors are all rusty looking and their internal filters were caked with build up. heres one pic. my camera phone cant capture the internal filter shot, too dark.

could my spitting problem be the distributer/ignition coil?

maybe, you probably have the dist and not the coils, i timed mine and its still sputtering and whatever. i didnt have time to clean the iacv today. your timing might just be off a little
