Hey guys I got a problem maybe you can give me some help.

I recently upgraded my alternator to a Quest alternator. Before this everything was running fine, no vibration/sputtering/ or noise. I placed everything back to the way it was after the installation. All hoses wires etc were check to make sure they weren't messed up during the upgrade.

Started up the car and it runs. However now there is an annoying vibration coming from the engine. Drove around for a bit and found out that anything under 3k RPM will cause the engine to vibrate (quite a bit). It even vibrates at idle. So I figure it was some bad hoses, so I check and they were fine. Went to check plugs and the wire pulled a bitch on me and came apart. I shoved it back in there as best as possible because I use it as a DD and I have school tomorrow. Test drove it and now it runs well...but still idles like crap. Im planning on gettin some new plugs and wire this weekend. If that doesn't fix the problem I don't know what to check next.

If you guys have any idea why it would vibrate/shake at idle please help me out.

I went ahead and changed the plug and wires. It didn't seem to do much difference. At idle 700rpm it sputters and vibrates. However at 1.5k+ it runs smooth and throttle response is also good. I have no idea what is happening. Any idea guys?

i mean, if it happened after u switched, maybe its the quest alternator? It could be bad and not charging the battery well at low rpms. Did u get it tested?

Get your battery tested also

Yup I got it tested the day I received it, and it seemed to be working well. Pushes 13.9 to battery and rated 110 amps.

Well had a bit of time to mess with car and see what is going on. Pulled the injectors and guess what, one was bad. Third one did not make a difference so I think I found my problem. I'm going to check the wiring and see if it is gettin power to the injectors. I really don't want to put up 80 bucks for a new injector..

PB Blast your injector that you think may be bad. While you're at it, check your timing, plug gaps, alternator belt and tensioner, and vacuum lines.
