Time has come to put the Z under the knife and make it a real drift car. TRYING to make it formula d pro am Atlanta this year, time is ticking and I got a lot of work to do so we shall see what happens.

Current car mods, blah blah all the regular stuff, the lastest cool thing was a Reinforced sub frame w bushings from PBM, solid diff bushings, project mu ebrake shoes (which work awesome hydros are laaame) and urethane bushings for the rear uprights.

Copying the plate ( why do you ask?) because I have the ability to and when I’m done I can have a plate for the ¼ of the price.

As soon as I finish making the plate I’ll put the engine and trans in and start making the motor mounts, headers, and figure out oil pan clearance.

thats rad to see a z32, quick question though. i can't see the pic so i don't know how severe it is...but doesnt formula d not allow modded/reinforced sub frames? i doubt the same rule applies to pro am but it's worth a read...GOOD LUCK!!!!!

as far as I know its not really modded (rear at least) (cut up or anything) BUT they changed that with the huge v8 fad, they now allow it.

somehow the hood actually clears, all I did was remove some of the inner skin, no shitty hood scoop required.

you can if you try, i didnt know shit 2 years ago, took a welding class, bought metal and stated cutting shit up, use alot of pics of other peoples stuff for reference. maybe i have a mind to figure out how to piece things together too though, i played with legos alot as a kid lol.

Im changing some things around, I'm raising the motor and pushing it back some more,
I'm redoing the motor mounts and headers, the motor sat too far down and too far forward to my liking, if I'm gonna do it I'm gonna do it right.

but in the meantime the car is going somewhere for something.....

sooo update. motor is mounted. FINALLY, this was a mission lol.
new mounts, motors sits back 2 inches and up 1 inch, custom rear sump oil pan is being Researched and Developed.

I put a new unmodified crossmember in and because the motor sits so far back I cannot use to factory front sump, this is good anyway because i really did not like to have to do two extremes, I either wanted a modded pan or a modded k member, I'm happy this way because i dont need to mod the k member in any way and I get to have a sweet rear sump. I didnt like the front sump either cause in case of off roadage, thats the first to go.

Sourced a couple accessories, I can honestly say the car is half way done, Most of the stuff is together,
all that is left is to finish up the headers, the mid pipe of the exhaust, couple brackets, the engine wiring, and bolt up the interior.
I'm starting to get excited!!

FINALLY done with the headers, actually went alot faster than last time, guess just more experienced. Well I'm back to where I was a couple months ago lol, motors relocated with new mounts and headers are done, got some other stuff going on, next major thing is wiring it up and getting the rest of the little things. Getting Warmer!

Small stuff happeneing.
Modified alternator bracket, moved it down, basically put it where the ac comp was. cut off the end of the coolant pipe cause it stuck up high and rewelded the beaded end on so hoses stay on.

Been jamming real hard to get this thing done heres some progress.
while i was waiting on my custom pan to be done i messed around with the stock one and found this.

cut the flange, flip it 180 and boom fits perfectly, now remember my engine is pushed back 2 inches and up 1 inch from where the engine would normally land if you were to
move it in relation to where the tranny sits factory.

got the pan on monday and there was an event on friday i wanted to make so i slaved all week to finish the car up. literally came down to the wire where i found myself still
working on it friday afternoon, put the car on the ground and drove it for the first time thursday at like midnight.
car still has some issues, powers isnt really all there but i didnt have time to check anything out, i havnt driven in over a year and i just wanted to drive. it was a local
event so i just threw it all together just to get the car rolling and went out. Had a major pws leak which drained all my fluid and had some crazy steering bind so the runs wernt
that great, but i still had a fuckin blast and it was worth the salving, and am so happy to have it on the ground and driving! heres some footage yeah they suck but o well.
yeah its all haggard looking, like i said i threw it together in a couple days, plus i hit the tires earlier in the night and ripped off my aero.

Man I've been lurking on this site for a week or so and been reading your build. Your work is really great. Really makes me wanna learn to weld really. Your car is amazing. Looks like alot of fun and it truly is inspirational seeing all your hard work for the sake of drifting. Keep it up.

When I saw the t6 on the shelf, I knew you were legit. Rethinking I should keep my z32tt now. Question. Do you feel the z32 2 seater is too easy to swap ends to be chosen over say an s14 or 350z? My z32 is much higher powered than my other choices so I'm considering it.
