whats up guys, today i was sitting in my ap physics class and we were going over "archimedes' law of buoyancy" and well i started to think haha why not make my own law of drifting..everything has a formula, why not make one for drifting haha its retarded but hey whatever haha so here it is haha very simple
:)+rwd(hp)+(clutch kick+throttle+counter steer)=drift
i know there are many ways to drift, and very many techniques, i tried to keep it as basic as possible. hope you guys can get a laugh out of it haha

So whats the independed variable here Mr.AP-Physics? you are so cool for being in AP-Physics!!! please close

This doesn't deserve it's own thread, I think you might want to just read what goes on around here before posting again so you get the feel for this site.

How bout you do some vectors for me, figure out how fast my entry speed has to be to initiate a drift in a quarter mile straight with a 90˚ turn linked to double esses and a 180 exit. I want to exit at 75MPH. When you can do that, that will be a formula.
BTW AP is a joke, doesnt prepare you crap for college, unless you actually learn shit and get a 5. But if you get a 3/4 on the exam, and half ass HS, which everyone does. i wouldnt opt out of the class in college because you'll enter in level 2 classes without knowing crap. Learned that the hard way in college this year.

well thanks for both your positive and negative comments, if you read a bit..you might find that i went for simplicity but then again you're guys' hating just shows that i offended you with something you yourself could not have come up with, and thanks for the first comment made me laugh haha a beautiful mind is a great movie..thanks guys for the positive comments and as for the negatives, id like to point out one in particular..

independed? idk what physics class you took, if any..but in the class im in we dont cover that haha learn how to spell buddy..as for the comment you attempted to make well there is no "independed" variable, i can tell you what the limited reactant is though..its your lack of a sense of humor..
i made this just so it could be funny..if its not funny to you then im sincerely sorry, and yes i am pretty cool i guess haha i see you have some sort of animosity toward ap physics, perhaps you did not take it, or you didnt do so hot, heck maybe you didnt graduate, which is fine just dont crap my thread for it..thanks and thanks for viewing guys

haha nice call..maybe you should solve that one for us, it says you attend cal poly perhaps studying to an engineer best of luck for you man im thinking of going into the engineering field my self

I have a question.
What is the force in pounds of X
+(rwd 3000lbs accelerating 5meters per second)+(clutch kick decel 0.1m per second)(+throttle+counter steer)
[email protected]+70degrees+dead on wall contact =X

should look more like HP(wheight+tire grip)- turbo lag squared(MU)+ throttle response(:D)= drift
I love physics

Welcome to Zilvia.
i dont see why it doesnt deserve its own thread, just dont look at it buddy and move on, i know exactly what goes on around here..ive been on these forums for three years now..i just recently decided to make my own because i now own a 240, i used to just log on to my brother's..i know zilvia and i know that were all a community of drifters, not haters so on that note..welcome to zilvia fanboy make friends, dont be so quick to jump to conclusions

there are some flaws in your formula, acceleration is not a constant because it is increasing, we wouldnt add the deceleration, we'd subtract it because it would be a negative number, and it wouldnt multiply with both throttle and countersteer..probly just throttle and drifting at 100 mph is far to fast to even take the weight of the car into notable consideration but i like where your going with it man and thanks for your input bro

haha yes thats more like it man, but we would multiply the (MU) which is the coefficient of friction with the force downwards of the car (mg) which is (mass)(gravity) this would give us the overall friction and then we could apply this to the acceleration of the car, not forgetting to take into consideration your factor of turbo lag which would be added with throttle respose and subtracted to the over all friction and then yes we would have a real formula of drifting, its just that some people dont understand that i opted for SIMPLICITY and to be funny but yeah whatever..thanks bro for your input we need more people like you man
