View Full Version : Wiring loose ends?

So I'm having a bit of trouble with my recently acquired 240. It's a 92 LE with a 5 spd swap. The issue that I have can literally be described as someone disconnecting my battery and reconnecting it. It was hard to diagnose at first, but the problem became evident because of a leaky injector (spilled fuel on the floor cause the fuel pump kept priming over night). I've been combing over the car to see what freak wiring could be causing it. I'm still at a loss, but I found these two wires with electrical tape around it. Just curious to what it's for.

And I found this plug left unattended, no idea what it's for. No idea what plug it is on the FSM either.

Can you guys offer any direction? This issue is driving me nuts; the car sits in the garage with the battery disconnected so it stops leaking fuel. The power cuts off for random things too; engaging the turn signal has caused the dash and radio to turn off and then back on. The radio presets were reset as well as the dash clock.

its hard to tell from the pic (the cut wires) but they look like part of the charging system, which could explain ur erratic power issues.

what i would do it remove the lower harness, its only a few plugs but it contains most of the "power" items (alt, battery etc) and inspect it for damage, n eithor repair or replace it.

as for the other plug its hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the plug for an emmisions device???

Thanks for a push in what I hope is the right direction. Would you know what page in the FSM where I can find a layout for the lower harness?
