The next "Silvia" ??

I know most of you guys HATE to chat about the next "Silvia" or low end RWD 'sports' car...but I came across this pic....

I know its a photoshop...but it doesn't look that bad. If Nissan was to make another sports car under the 350Z I would expect it to be a hatchback or fastback.

Do any of you have opinions on this pic?

Also do you think Nissan is actually working on another low end sports car?

Someone on FA did bring up a good concept, which was to label the car under "Datsun" along with a 510 sedan. This is so the car can have its own identity, priced right and be aimed towards the youth market.

Listing under the Datsun name would make it easier to price, but as per marketability it would be a no go. As your aware Datsun is a "older" company. The reason I bunny eared older is because its not evolving with technology and cars. Maybe thats not how I want to say it. Ok, in the naive public opinion Nissan has matured and followed with the day/age of the modern car. To me, it would seem that most people would dub a datsun to be old technology and probably not up to snuff with the cars of today.

What all the bull**** means is; The moronic lable whore of a Society that bothers us daily, would say, "Well I've known Nissan for so long, and I have heard WONDERFUL things about their Murano, 350Z, Sentra, Altima, Max..." and in regards to Datsun, "Datsun, I thought they folded." Not eveyone is aware of the Nissan/Datsun/Infinitie trio, hell people still think Toyota and Lexus are two different companies.

Ok simplified version, seriously. People know Nissan. So Nissan/Datsun/Infinitie would lable the vehicle under Nissan or Infinitie (doubt it) because it makes this non-existant vehicle THAT much easier to sell. Why work harded trying the "revive" a "dead" company. "Yea". Sorry, lost it on the bunny ears....

As for that chop, blah. Need I really anwser.

As for the RWD low end vehicles, absoloutely. I can see the market switching now. And I said this in a thread a few weeks ago, "Import Horepower Wars of the 00's" I really feel the entire market is heading the the right direction. For the love of Christ Honda released a RWD car.... HON-DUH! Dont mention the NSX I know, I know. I think the market is shifting toward RWD and more power. Does that lead me to beleive the 240/250/S16 er whatever is going to market? The shift would make it that much easier, but I dont think its probable. The Z was HUGE when first released, and for the years that followed it remained huge. Although we're 12,000 deep up in this bitch I dont think we would really make a significant difference to Nissan.

Look at the beautiful lines of an s15, and then look at that thing. I think its fugly. I hope a production model won't look like that without a good deal of change.

As for releasing it as a Datsun, I dunno,it looks like they want to go the same way like Toyota with Scion, but I'm with weirdstyles on this one, I dont think Datsun is th name to do it, simply from the ignorance of the general public.

Yea I was hoping to get some conversation going on about the rest of the post. GOOD POST WEIRD STYLES!!!! The pic is fugly and it is a chopped RSX (i think), but Nissan does need a hatchback/fastback somewhere in the U.S. market. Recent history will show that Japanese coupes don't sell to well...

As for the Datsun ahead...it not a good concept now that I think about it. Nissan is doing really well and every model they roll out is a hit...even the new Quest. I'm seeing so many of those plump, evil looking minivans. :p The NISMO tuned Sentra SE-R is actually hot. Now they will have the Titan/Amaranda(sp?), GTR (????), so I can see them bring yet another hit to the U.S. However I see the end for the Pathfinder and Sentra SE-R Spec-V. :wtc:

Your right a "fastback" type ride needs to hit the shores soon. But I am kind of scared to see what the new "fastback" will look like. If it has any of the lines like the g35, 350z, rx8, sc430 it will be all wrong. You need a fat ass and tiny head....he he he...
