Has anyone bought a sr swap from this guy, Karim? He advertises on teh 240sx.org classifieds, and he's been around for quite a while. Any experience with his service and the quality of his products?

So the next question is, who to buy from? I'm acquiring another s13 hatch really cheap, and I'll be swapping all of my current cars parts to it, and then selling mine stock to finance an sr.

Also, kinda off topic, but where can I get a last gen 180sx front bumper?

hmmm... it seems like me and a couple of my friends are the exceptions in terms of experience w/ Karim. i have bought several things from him in the past (small items) and had no problems. i was a bit weary about ordering "big ticket" items from him until a friend ordered an H22 engine/trans and R200 VLSD from him and got everything, another friend ordered a complete SR (eng, trans, computer, etc...) it was complete, nothing missing. couple months later same friend ordered a Silvia front end, and numerous misc. AE86 parts and got everything he ordered (order totaling $3000+). his prices were reasonable and he's pretty easy to get in touch with. mind you we are in Hawaii and he has come through for us numerous times. i guess w/ any seller you have your good and bad stories, forutnately for us, dealings w/ him have been succesful.

i ordered my engine through enjuku and it ended up that it came from karim. granted it did take 6 weeks for the shipment with my engine on it to get here. when it got here it had more than i needed with it. no parts missing and everything in tip top shape. i don't believe the 6 weeks was his or enjuku's fault sometimes things just don't go as planned when they are coming from japan.

my brother bought an SR20 from him, like 2 yrs ago and thats the car i just acquired to start as my project.

The motor came beyond complete! Also, he's very easy to get hold of and promptly replys to e-mails. I had no problems with my purchase and plan to buy again.

Karim's not a bad guy, nor does he rip people off -- his problem is that he takes DAYS to get you your stuff, cus most of the time he doesn't have what he's advertising.

I know people who have gotten stuff from him without any problems, but my best recommendation is to try and find it elsewhere first if you can, and if not, go with Karim but make SURE he actually has the item otherwise you'll be in for a hell of a wait.

karim, gj on bringing up a dead thread to retort. I've already PM'd you (MANY moons ago) about the FEW comments I've made about your business. True, I have never ordered ANYTHING from you. Maybe my experience with you would be good, who knows. However, having close friends who have done business w/ you (or attepted to do so), and knowing their experiences, for me, I'd rather not do business with youin terms of ordering things. If you have something -ON HAND- and that you can take pics of, or show me if I stop by, then it'd be a different story.. but say... offering for sale an R32 GT-R for sale, and not mentioning the fact that it's STILL IN JAPAN (and even claiming it's already stateside) to me... well, that's shady.
FYI, I didn't START to post negative comments. I just gave my opinion and answered a question.

To each its own opinion, i myslef never had a problem with Karim. I bought a motor from him 2 yrs ago, till this day no problem. Runs like a dream, bone stock w/apexi n1 dynoed at 191whp... just picked up a front end from him for an awesome price that i cannot describe how clean it was. And did i say an awesome price?? You should see what other shops around are charging.. they must have been smoking some heavy GANJA and the condition of their parts is beyond "SHIT". I'm definitely buying again... if you are a serious buyer have money ready and not there to waist anyones time go see if he has what you are looking for an you will not be dissapointed period.

I too have dealt with Karim. I purchased an S15 SR20DET from him back in late August of 2001. He's very easy to reach and gets very clean top notch parts. At first my experience started off rough as it took a little longer then expected to get the motor set but that was around Sep 11th. Everything coming in was slow after that. When I did get the motor I was extremely pleased with its condition. If he has something I want in stock in his wharehouse, I'd buy again.
