I believe my KA DOHC is begining to show signs of a faulty head gasket, everytime i start the car (http://zilvia.net/f/#) is shoots out a decent amount of water, but im not overheating when i drive. could this be my head gasket

and

in replacing my headgasket does anyone have any recommendations on any headgaskets besides nissan (http://zilvia.net/f/#) oem? im planning on going ka-t by the end of the year and im wondering if an oem headgasket will be sufficient if your boosting 10 lbs or less

thanks for any and all input

it will smoke sonsistantly white if the gasket was bad. also a leakdown test would easly tell you if its bad or not

is that the one where you take off the radiator cap and look for bubbles?

Check for oil and coolant mixing. If it's bad enough you will get oil in the radiator and water on the dipstick. Drain the oil, see what you have

could be just a water inside from the exhaust moist over night

i have the same thing. but its fine.

and if you have occasional overheating, re bleed your system and check your fan clutch if its going out. it is a common problem but most people overlook a simple issue

i get moist on my exhaust when i turn on the car every morning but it goes away after i drive for a bit
no problem there
check your oil man
look for water beads, if you see some on your oil get ready to take off the head which isnt hard at all (done it many times on mine and friends!)
i put a Felpro headgasket on my reabuild ka since im plannin on goin kat soon as well,
just get the arp headstuds and you should be good to go
....a friend said that its better to use the felpro in case you engine wants to blow itll blow the headgasket before your block....idk if its a 100% true....

Yeah that's not true at all. When my head gasket went bad I had a leak and bad compression between two cylinders, but no leaking coolant.

Only way I knew my head gasket was bad was because my car would buck under acceleration and I did a compression test and there was a greater difference between two cylinders then the fsm allowed.

Do you ever have to add water to the radiator?

Check the coolant level cold. then again in a few days. If you don't have to add you aren't leaking.
