I just bought a JWT pop charger for my 89 fastback and i was about to install it when a saw a tube that was connected to the right of the stock air box and I don't know what it is and if it's okay to remove it. Thanks.

if it is for the 89-90 it should have the hole drilled for the temp sensor in the adapter plate. if it doesnt, you should drill it for one. because the pop charger is unlike most filter adapters (filter outlet is twice as large) you cant put it in the filter. your car will run without it but your ecu will throw a code and im not sure if it will stay in the right mode (hardbody trucks run fine without them, im not 100% sure on 240sx). i would just drill it out if it isnt already, one larger hole and the 2 threaded. btw i have a pop charger and it came with the place for the sensor
edit: nm i thought you were talking about the temp sensor, the adapter plate should have a location for the "black box" tube as well. mine has one with a 90 degree pipe fitting to barb and the tube connects there.

it's what JWT calls a cone filter. I guess the different name justifies the excessive price.
