So recently my sr maf took a crap on me, so I decided to replace it with a single cam maf. Now that I've replaced it I can drive fine and it still moves, but when the car is warmed up it gives a horrible idling problems. I checked for vacuum leaks and found none, any suggestions?

maybe since the sohc maf is designed for a sohc engine, its registering air for a sohc. and well, the dohc needs more, thus why it idles weird/funny? its simply not registering enough air for the dohc...

Wrong.

OP, the SOHC KA MAF uses a different pigtail and needs to be wired up accordingly. It's not simply plug and play. Did you follow the guide for wiring it up?

I wired up the sohc pigtail accordingly, I'm gonna pick up another sohc maf just in case the sensor is no good. Ill update when I figure it out.

Just FYI, I've been using an SOHC MAF on my SR for about 3 years now with no problems. Before buying another one buy some MAF cleaner and spray it lightly onto the little wire on the inside that reads the signal, they are very fragile and people tend to spray a concentrated stream onto it inevitably damaging it. You'll want to spray it holding the can far away so it basically mists onto it. Let it dry up, then install.

Thanks for the tips everyone, after going through everything I hit it with a little maf cleaner and that seemed to do the trick.

i ran into the same issue a while back on mine, i to am running a sohc mafs on my sr and mine would idle crazy once it warmed up... i think my issue was my filter wasnt on al the way and i had my mafs titled to the side a bit, once i put it straight and tighten down my filter it ran great.
