so i changed my redtop ecu because the old one was sending a constant signal to the #2 injector even when in off position.
Now that i switch ecu my car starts but it idles bad and it eventually dies. The car ran fine and idled perfect with the other ecu.
Does it idle like that cuz the ecu is new to my motor or should i check some other stuff although everything was kept the same.

Subscribing for results (seller of ecu here)
Sounds like its flooding out? How is throttle response once it starts? Also give us info on your actual motor setup....

No CEL's? As far as my cars mods the only tuning I've had done on the safc was to richen it a bit during high throttle for drifting. What mods are on your car? What 02 sensor are you running? No boost leaks? Vacuum readings are normal?

Maybe that injector got jacked up from being wide open

Heres the video of it idling and running with that ecu and my safc.

Im confused by how your car ran fine and idled perfect with the old ecu? If injector #2 was constantly spraying how was that possible. There was definately an electrical fault somewhere in the system. The next problem is the fault that was pre-exsisting could have also created the same short or even a different short in your new ecu.
Ive seen dozens of hack job harnesses cause engine fires and burn out ecu's do to shorts. Definately check the harness as well just to be safe. It sounds like your still having the same issue after reading your other thread. Definately check plugs for fouling or unburned fuel.
God I hate electrical issues with a passion. I love swapping engines and turbo parts, but I always leave the wiring and tuning to the experts.
Off to work now and good luck with your trouble shooting...

It ran fine prior to the problem. I checked n tested ignition wires n equipment as well injectors wiring n equipment. Tests were done exactly like the FSM says.
And I have had this set up for over 4 years without any electrical problems
I'll troubleshoot some more today. I'll double check to see if all cylinders are getting spark n fuel.

I hate trouble shooting electrical period. I chased a faulty ignition wire for a month on my wifes s13. 2 ecu's, ignitor chips and coilpacks and many weeks later still couldnt find the issue. It was also trouble free for years. I gave up and swapped her sr for an rb and the problem went away. Gsxr Jordan did our wiring on the new harness. Pretty sure the issue was somewhere in the old harness. 3 different shops intown tried to diagnose the issue. Pretty sure a harness swap would have cured it for us. I mean these harnessess are allready almost 20 years old especially being s13 sr's. But I already had a back up RB swap lying around so I just installed that instead.
