I don't have any pics but someone on Freshalloy put the exhaust on and posted pics, it mounted just like the Apexi N1. Good angle and everything. It sounds quite simliar to the N1.

This exhaust is pretty damn good. My buddy has just the muffler sold by Megan Exhaust, "N1 Style" is what they call it, On his '02 WRX and everyone loves the way it sounds and he loves the performance.

His is not catback though, just the muffler.

If I had $329... I would buy this...

Well since you asked the least I can do is a little post. The price was just as advertised $329 shipped and it arrived in two shipping day's.

Install was pretty straight forward, I'm just very glad to have had help from Grant and MrMeph.

Complaints:
Comes with gaskets, bolts and nuts
Not exactly, it comes with a gasket for in between the two pieces but not for where it connects to the cat...not a big deal just something I didn't notice till the last minute.

Comes with removable double-layer silencer
Well sorta, I initially tried the exhaust with the silencer it made a godawful rattle. Taking out the exhaust did make the exhuast note louder in db but it sounded a lot better than a metal on metal rattle.

I can live with the exhaust sans silencer I think.

100% Guaranteed Perfect Fitment

I would say 99% heh, the stock exhaust I had used hangars in all the rubber hangers. On the megan exhaust one bracket on the back of the muffler pipe is simply a mounting bracket that lines up with the rubber hanger and had to be bolted through ie no metal hook. I didn't have a bolt at the time and it almost came down to a temporary job of "wiring" it to the hanger. Luckily I scrounged up a nut and bolt to do the job.

Pros:
Compared to my prior exhaust I notice a much smoother accelaration of course I had a humongous hole in that muffler (wish I had taken pics)

329 shipped, I mean it doesn't get much better than that for a mandrel bent stainless steel cat-back

It looks nice as hell

The customer service, price, and quickness in shipping by optionimports was superb

Overall:
This is one time where the pro's really outweight the con's. If you don't already have a cat-back system I would say this deal is too good to pass up, but that's just me a spendthrift bastard. So far I consider this money very well spent!


It's too early to give a full on review of the product but in a while I will post one up on the reviews section for folks.

It sit's similar to the Apexi N1, which means its ridiculously close to the tow hook in the back and it is a little low. Right now I'm running stock ride height and have no worries about scraping; however, after I get some coil-overs this may become a concern.

It sounds loud and deep to me, it's fun to romp on the gas and listen to the roar at the 4-5k mark. It has a nice smooth rolling humm at the 3grand mark. I was hoping to be able to use the silencer but due to the ghetto loud rattle it makes I am looking for some thermal tape to tighten it in place.

got mine, sounds extremely deep and would be nice to come w/ bolts and an extra gasket, and extend one bracket, b/c im a ghetto rigger so i had to use some odd bolts haha
but overall couldnt beat it for the money, awesome, but big muffler section and low

I bought the front/rear strut bars from Megan....I believe they were $18 for front and $25 for rear....not too bad at all. :)

I'm really thinking about getting this. Only thing is i'm like Ronin kinda want a stock look on my car. Don't want this big ol' muffler there. Going for the sleeper look. I can sway either way at this point though.

I got the S14 exhaust and it sounds great and looks good. It's quite low, I have to be carefull about scraping at stock ride hight, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I get my coilovers. the only other thing about it is that it is resonated, and the resonator vibrates against the heatsheild on the gas tank sometimes (kinda scares me that the exhaust is pressed right up against the gas tank). I'm not sure what to do about this, I put some fiberglass insulation in there, but it wore through in no time. Any ideas? Other than this, it's a great exhaust for a REALLY good price.

heared that turbo engines need special exhausts

the 240SX has a KA24 (right ?) engine which should be quite different compared to a CA18DET or SR20DET when looking at the downpipes. I have an S13 with CA18DET engine which has a little bit different downpipe than an S13 with SR20DET

me thinks you're a bit confused here, but i'll help you out.

here is how your exhaust is situated on any car:

engine - downpipe - cat - exhaust piping - muffler
a catback includes........^-here to----------------^

so it doesn't matter what engine you have, just the chassis.

as for a turbo, the only thing different is normally the diameter. most people running high power turbos go with a 3" exhaust.

you´re not understanding me, the engines have different dimensions, the whole exhaust pipework is going down with different angles and locations

The CAT on a CA18DET can be on a different location that it is on a KA24

here you can see 2 exhausts, they´re both for the s13:

note that the Fujitubo pipe is going to the right side whereas the HKS is going more straight
