I already searched, and most threads were f/s or thread that were dead threads being bumped after 2 years. So I asked a mod if I could start this thread and recieved the ok.
So in this thread I want people to post up pics of thier gear. Talk about what style they prefer, what types of games they participate in. I.e Speed ball. Scenerio, Bush ball etc. Tournements in your area (won't really be helpful to everyone).Future gun mods. Interesting or funny stories. Action pics if you have them. Aside from building my car, I like shootin people without gettin in trouble, don't you?

Used to be way into it. At my prime paintball career I had a '03 AutoCocker with e-blade, dye barrel, halo b hopper, regulator blah blah, compressed air tank that shit was so fast. But now it's too expensive so I stopped. Shooting friends with airsofts is more practical now lol.

I, myself haven't played in 10+ years. All my stuff is unused by me, I just let my little brother use the. I haven't used any except for the A-5 which I just used last night for the first time to do some testing. I.e. Shootin signs in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere! lol.

Future mods for the A-5 include All new and upgraded internal, remote coil, gas-thru stock, and the Tippmann X7 low-profile hopper. Maybe a rail system for the Flatline, and a light and red dot, not sure yet though.

i dont have any pics but i have an 05 oracle, use to play lots of speed ball and scenario at jungle island and sc village.
hah this gun has so much memories that it was involved in, i remember one time at a speed ball park it was nothing but friends playing and it was 5v5. my friend david was the last one and it was 1v4 so yeah he was screwed from the start and it was his first time playing, so everyone rushed him he gives up but for some reason everyone just open fired and didnt stop till our hoppers were empty. it sounded like a good idea at the time i felt bad for him after =]
i feel like playing again now but its winter and cold so it hurts 100 times more when your body is all cold and whatnot

didnt they outlaw ramp modes in tournaments? or is it just at the discretion of whoever is less drunk that day? all ive ever played is stock class/scenario games so i really dont have much knowledge about all the other junk

They put a limit on the ramp modes to 15bps.

Lol, you can't beat going with a Tippmann... These fuckers are built like a tank. I submerged mine underwater a few days ago and she fired everytime. and the she fired everytime after I took it out, lol. Wasn't the smartest thing to do but I wasnted to test the Tippmann reliability. My Invert is fine... Though nothing on the inside is stock, lol.

It all depends on what kind of style you wish to mainly participate in.
Scenario
Speedball
Bushball (Woodsball as most call it)

Damn I miss paintballing so bad, I used to love going to SC Village and owning kids. Good thing I never sold my Phantom or Autococker(which I need to sell).

Story Time:

This one time my friend and I swooped the line on the other team and came up behind everyone. We literally went down the line from left to right and took out 15 people from the other team before some idiot who wiped our shot because he thought we were friendly fire turned around and announced to the rest of his team where we were. So wish I had a camera for that moment.

shit i went in july when i was home on leave, definitely missed it but the cost is definitely not missed. was funny how crazy some of the electros have gotten and for the cheap, like 200 dollar ions with upgraded boards doing 22 bps no problem. Autocockers and angels aren't as popular now as they used to be, timmys and smart parts guns are where its at along with other new names in the game. i dunno if it'd be worth getting back into but maybe just to play around with who knows

This is my brother-in-laws place we play paintball. A SWAT guy owned it at one point and him and his buddies shot everything up. It's a field with a path down the center riddled with old cars, farm equipment, and other random debris. It's kinda dangerous, but damn is it perfect for it.

I used to play and was pretty hardcore into it. Played mostly out of hollywoodsports worked as a gun tech specializing in autocockers out of i&i sports then ultimate motorsports paintball. Got lucky and captained a team called last dragons and played xpsl and psp

It is pretty awesome.

It's cool crawling through the interior of a car and then you start hearing the paintballs hitting the metal body.

You just have to watch out for all the broken glass, and sharp metal everywhere. If you tripped and fell and landed on something, you'd be fucked. Probably literally.

Here is a google maps view of the area. It's approx 1/4 mile long and about half as wide. It's hard to tell from the pic, but it's actually a valley. So even though it looks like it's right next to the freeway the freeway is actually about 30ft higher then the ground you play on.

I worked at a Paintball store that had two locations after school in high school. I learned a lot about guns and the business. As far as playing I think I've had 10-15 guns, played local events then went to NPPL D-2, played Denver, Hunington Beach, tampa and NC, but that got old paying so much for so few games and a "one shot to make it" kinda deal. Started our own team and started playing PSP in Charlotte, World cup, then went to Chicago. ..

Took third in chicago and havent picked up a gun sense. My little bro still plays professionally but I dont have the time or money anymore. It started not to be "fun" anymore, it was work; and it was hard to stay on top. We just did break even with the prize money from taking third. I dont miss it much, other than the tourneys themselves, having a crowd watching and yelling, its such a rush.. I dont regret it though, the practices every sunday and thursday and thousands of dollars for a few little trophies and plaques..

ahh well I wont forget.

I myself have been playing for about 10 years now, started as recreational then actually started competing in speedball in 3man SCPL this past year until our tournament series went broke, now just usually play for fun and went back to old school style by playing pump instead of all the crazy electro guns. Off the top of my head my list of guns I've owned from past to recent go, Brass eagle stingray, Spyder compact, Spyder E99, Indian Creek Designs BKO, Smartparts Ion, Dangerous Power G3, CCI Phantom, WGP Superstock Autococker, and now i have 4 Different WGP Pump autocockers and another body I have yet to convert. I like pump play because you can play all day for relatively cheap, piss off people who have expensive gear, and improve your own skill by making each shot count. I recommend it to anyone looking to start off in paintball.

i think paintball is way better then airsoft ive played both but in airsoft theres no adreline rush but in paintball you can hear the balls like wizzing by ur head compaired to airsoft there little pellets that done even hurt or even sting. And OP did u used to play at paintball USA in mp?

ive been playing paintball since 2004, i remember that year because that was the year before the 2005 angel speed came out and had to have it. I still have my angel and decided to build a custom autococker and a automag. I havnt played in like a year, ive been so bussy with work, girlfriend and my 240sx. I prefer paintball over airsoft and woodsball/tactical over speedball. Love it but not a every weekend thing. Got a few places to play here in WI but private land is best. It's free. Gotta group to play too. Only thing about that is playing with new guns that haven't been clocked.

There is a shop between Ontario and Diamond Bar called thepaintballshop or thepaintballstore that has a bunch of cocker stuff, talked to the owner and he bought out all of system x's old stock when they went out of business and he's making his own products under the brand GAT products. Pump kits, rods, random other bits. I have some spare stuff lemme know what you need through PM and I'll let you know what I have. I used to do the same thing but nowadays there are so many fields, there really is no excuse not to play legit. Think about it this way, if you play at a field its going to cost you maybe 15-20 bucks which isn't bad for all day, plus you help support your local business and you avoid any hassle from johnny law. It was understandable back in the day because there wasn't very many fields nearby but I'm sure that there is a place within 20-30 minutes of you dude.

I started back in 1999 with a Spyder, then got an Automag and upgraded it with an RT valve and warp feed. After that i went through a series of owning several cockers (mini, electro, Blackmagic, Orracle), Angels (LED, LCD, Dark, Adrenaline) all in no particular order. My last gun is an 05 Timmy with a few mods i picked up from Ebay. I still have it. I need to get my tank hydroed and new goggles and I should be set to play again.

We played at GatSplat, $20 entry with your own equipment, 30 with rental. 65/case of paint, they didn't trip about bringing food or drinks, which is cool. Played from 11a until 6pm and we wrecked shop. My average KDR (?) would have been 3:1, if I could kill. I love running that tight course. Rushing up like a ninja and picking bitches left and right.

The one downside to this place is the field rules. You CAN NOT advance beyond the 50foot mark. If the other team trenches down and camps, you're fucked with a stalemate. This happened about 4-7 times and was really annoying.

Surprisingly, a number of balls didn't break on me, rather, they simply bounced off. I've had 3 hits to the chest that bounced off, 2 hits to the hands that bounced, and one to the shoulder that bounced. They still sting regardless of breakage.

I NEED a new barrel/kit, and want a new lighter bolt.

I usually don't put out much paint, and as is, the Torque works perfectly. I ninja that shit, and the other guys provide cover fire to draw attention away from me.

I love sneaking and rushing in ahead further than the other team anticipates. Seeing their eyes widen makes me happy.

Down the road, I will likely be getting it though. After my more important purchases (slider shorts, good fitting pants and guards).

I havent been to an event yet so i wouldn't know how much exactly one wastes. The total spend for one day at paintballing would be $120 for paint, $20 for entrance, $10 for hpa all day, and food and drinks. Bad thing about it was I got addicted to the adrenaline of 50 on 50 capture the flag matches and 30 on 30 team death matches(field was a mini forest with bunkers and stuff all over the place) so I would go at least 3 times a month.

a custom Ego 06 bolt and an old school WGP barrel and a it has the E2 frame version 0.24 (kinda rare).

It took me a a couple months to build, i just need to powder coat it
and like all the cockers time it, which is a bit tricky thing to do but its easier with the MQ-valve

Me and a few buddies/cousins are taking part in a 3Man this Sunday at CousinsPaintball. Prizes are TBA.

I'm super amped and nervous at the same time, more amped than nervous.

I've since traded my gun because it was inefficient as shit.

LTD Invert Mini v3 in a Chrome Blue. I just installed the Boss bolt kit and spring and so far, its a bit more efficient. I can't wait to tune it and get it dialed in perfectly. Fires pretty sick, minimal kick. Trigger play, but it works out for me pretty well.

Theres another tournament in October that I'm already signed up for. Its 5Man and the prizes are 5 Minis for the team and some other TBA stuff.

And PB events are so much cheaper than car events.

Man, perfect timing on this thread. I thought about it a lot and finally decided to get back into it since I can actually afford to play nowadays. Just bought about $400 worth of new equipment as an early birthday present to myself, including:

- Crossfire 68/4500 HPA tank
- Empire E-Vents goggles
- Planet Eclipse HDE digi camo pants
- J&J Ceramic 12" barrel

It sounds funny but on my snorkeling mask's I used to rub toothepaste on and rinse it to prevent fogging, worked pretty good for me and those have no ventilation ;)

Depends on how serious you want to get. Just got my roomate a mini that shoots great and plenty fast. It's not as smooth or quiet as my g6r but I get just as many eliminations with his gun as my g6r. I payed $150 for it used. Plus tank and a good hopper and mask you're looking at around $500-600. But you could easily spend way more then that on just the gun. Just avoid cheap guns because you'll end up just buying another gun if you keep playing and it's a waste. Search pbnation for good cheap used guns because of you get a decent deal on a used gun you won't loose much if you decide to sell it down the road.

At that time, tipman was shit, spyder was the lowest you'd want to play with, autococker and automag was the gold standard. And Angels(full auto) were the shit that only rich people had.

I'm looking to get back in with on the automag/autococker level of todays guns. If that makes any sense.....lol. Guns I used to run were 500-700 for the gun. Sounds like thats enough to get something decent in todays market....no? Do people play with full autos any more?

Full auto isn't allowed at most fields people usually ramp now. So after 4 trigger pulls it ramps to 12-30 bps depending on the gun and board settings. The invert mini I picked up that I mentioned above ramps to 15bps no problem which is more then fast enough. Mechanical and electric cockers are still available used but not that common because there are just a lot nicer guns out now. Most older cockers have been converted to pumps now like my oracle.

Pumps died off lie 15yrs ago when the spyder came out. They really were the only ones that could get at me. Sucks getting hit in your bracing hand cause that's the only thing sticking out.
Even closed bolt semi's put some top spin on the ball when you start rocking and rolling. You can get a lot more range out of a pump with its flatter trajectory. What's old is new.

Ramping works different ways depending on what league you are in. Some you just have to pull the trigger at a minimum PPS(7.5) others you have to pull the trigger 3 times then hold it down. You are still capped at 10-15 balls per second. They use devices similar to what they use for shooting competitions to count the BPS.
There are also illegal ramping software for leagues and fields that don't allow it. They have usually have variable BPS or it stutters shots to make it look normal. Need a minimum PPS to initiate. Activating the mode is usually hidden also so it will pass tech.

I love my orracle pump budd orr gave me.. i play with it whenever im not playing a tournament, if you can do anything with a pump you can do with a ego, playing with a ego is like killing a fly with a flame thrower.

I play half day with the pump usually and half day with the G6R, I get a lot more satisfaction out of pump eliminations especially playing against people with ego's that are ramping. Pump has also made me a better semi player because I plan my shots a little more. Wait that extra half second to get a clean shot instead of just shooting at the first thing that moves.

I know WGP was praising closed bolt technology back in the days... but I can't believe people still think this!!

Just about all bolts is just an open face venturi bolt from Spyders to Cockers to Proto Matrixes to Egos. Theres no backspin technology going on.

The only way to get more range out of a paintball is using a Tippmann Flatline or that other barrel that puts a back spin on the paintball, but quite honestly, at that extra distance, the paintball wont break on any impact.

I love pump becuase this gets too easy, i can avrage about 28 bps on simi.
even with my pump i use a vlocity or empire b or some force feed hopper becuase i shoot my pump faster than most spyders.. ill bring like 4 pods out with me and go through all 4, but im talking like having to apply pressure to people and such and playing very aggressively
unless im playing a tournament ill almost always play pump.. i only bring out my ego wheni really need to put the hurt on someone lol

Haha, yeah, it'd been sitting in my buddies closet collecting dust and he didn't expect anything for it but I told him I had to give him something or I'd feel like I was ripping him off. So he threw out a random price and now i've done a few things to it, has a ULE body on it now and I'm gonna be picking up a double trigger soon for it. The funny thing is after all these years I though AGD went out of business, but I called them up and they're still steady making Mags and parts for them.

Haha thats what I thought too, because their website hasn't really changed much since the early 2000's. Giving them a call would be your best bet though, but if you wanted to order stuff on their site it still works, and they ship incredibly fast.

On a side note, if anyone is looking for an 05'd Z bodied timmy I have one I'm trying to get rid of REEAAALLY CHEAP lol PM me if interested.

Understandable. I use to rock a MR2 for scenario but I often found myself only using 3 round burst. Very effective.
I would always be moving around the pump guys could never keep up that's why I asked.
