how you think interiors look better with roll cages stripped (naked) or with interior (dressed).. my carpet is old and dont look fresh no more. i have a gutted trunk so should i just strip it all the way or should i just throw a new carpet in?? the cage im throwing wont allow me to have ppl on the back either way but i just want to see your opinion first

Generally once its time for a cage the interior should just be chucked. Door panels center console and seats is all you need. Interior is great and all but I think it dosn't looks right around a cage. Church, a properly gutted and paint interior is awesome, especially in a weekend warrior.
I have also owned a few jeeps, so my opinions are skewed. With the jeep I never had carpet, and the top and doors where off any given time I could, sometimes I would put the windshield down too, lol. Less is more in my eyes.

I dont have all of my interior in my S13 currently, but once I get my cage built, I plan to have carpet in and all my plastic panels on. I think it looks much nicer.

Ehhh... I wouldnt quite agree. Its all about what kind of car it is.
If its your daily, absolutely keep any interior you can. Cage or not.
If its full track, rip shit out and paint the inside of the car. It'll look serious!

This.
caged interior with cut panels, going into the dash by the a/b pillars and into the quarter panels via slits is SO nice.
very few cars that can rock the gutted look considering no one ever cleans up the car, repaints with covering all the little holes from bolts and shit, and then cleans up the wires so it doesn't fall all over the place.

couldnt agree more.
If the car has a stock body and is gutted with a cage it doesnt look right to me. It has to be a full out track car with a widebody, agressive style wheels & body kit.
If its ur double D cage it if ud like, but it would look 5x better if you have clean interior.

All comes down to your preference. All can look good when done right. Just got to make sure you dont half ass whichever you choose.
*If you gut it, gut it ALL THE WAY
*Almost gutted with door panels and dash
*Full CLEAN interior

its personally up to you, but i tried to do the gutted thing, but that shit was lame. i went through all the trouble of dry icing it and paintin it, but now i prefer the full interior with the cage

I have fully gutted, except the top half of the door panels. I'll get pictures later this month when I decide to make a build thread. Cut your dash to allow for the cage to go as far forward as you can. I went in front of my dash on my current cage, and it will be the first thing cut out and redone. If you spend the extra time tucking a cage correctly, you won't have any regrets when it comes to getting in and out of it. I was also dailying mine with a cage, no a/c and fully gutted in Louisiana during the hottest of the hot summer days. It's miserable. I will not lie. When you gut your carpet and sound deadening, it gets MUCH hotter in the cabin. Prepare for this if you choose to go gutted with no a/c. My build will consist of me re-insulating the firewall with sound deadening, and some form of carpet.
Like a few people have said. Some look great, some look like shit, either way you go. It ALL depends on the quality and time put into it.

dressed. i am not a fan of stripped out interiors unless there is a real reason to do so. putting in a cage and having an interior do not have to happen separately

I say clean the carpet, and make a cover board wrapped in carpet to replace the back seats. Thats how I am doing mine and thats how my old civic was and it looked very clean in my opinion...But if its a track car, strip that shit.lol

S14s look pretty sweet with full interior (bonus points if you have full interior and a cage).
I think 180sxs look super cool fully stripped with a cage and tower bars. Interior metal painted to match the outside color. Think ITAI 180SX

If its a daily then leave the interior alone, cause it will help with road noise (which gets very old hearing it everyday) and will keep you some what warm on cold days. Plus wtf do you need a cage in a daily for anyways? Stop being a fan boy. But if its a track car, look at the rules your racing against. A lot of sanctioning bodies dont allow carpet, or door panels or really anything thats going to ignite fast. Plus interiors are just extra weight and are slowing your lap times down. Just something else to think about instead of "does this look cool" or "what would you guys do?"

I had a full cage in my s14. I daily drove it and drifted it sometimes.
It was sick.

Yes, you will get a TON of drivetrain heat. You'll get a ton of road noise, a tin feeling and god help you if you get solid subframe bushings.

I think depending on the duty of the car and potential passengers something of light dress(or "short" to keep with the tone of some members posts lol) would look awesome. Then again its cost depending, or you could make something sort of removable depending on what you wanted.

Gutting cars are for people with more time on thier hands than people who do not have a lot of time on thier hands.
