Ok guys I'm new to the Nissan platform here. I am not in a rush to run out and buy a car but I did find one that has the engine I am interested in.

I plan on educating myself more before purchasing a 240, but if I do go check some out what should I look for? The guy agreed to do compression/leakdown tests with me. I may also try to get him to do a boostleak.

I am a fan of the RB engine and I don't plan doing any crazy modding to the engine, 300whp is a perfectly fine number with me. The only thing I really want to add to the one I am interested in is an EWG.

The car has an RB25DET, FMIC, 3" Cat Back, 3" Dump Pipe, 300zx OEM Clutch, Factory LSD, Turboxs bov, Hallman Boost Controller, SAFC, Rom Tune. I would prefer to build a car myself but this way seems to be the cheapest option financially (Assuming I get a functional car.) I still haven't made up my mind 100% on what I want to do but what do you guys think about it? Here are some pictures.

look at wiring make sure its not badly done
check near ecu

check for damage....

if serious request
a compression test
run consult daig if possible

it can be a great value but be carefull with swaped cars i have seen are pretty shady with wiring jobs.. that made it run haywire....

hope you are mechanically inclined when buying a 240+swap car

I agree with importdude. Look to see how well the car was wired and also look for little leaks. Also, I would look for signs of rust or body damage. Those are the most important things to look for when purchasing a swapped car. You should be able to follow your gut and tell if the car looks well maintained or half-assed. Good luck!

I may also try to get him to do a boostleak.

Given the context I knew what you meant, but I still laughed when I read this. You should also get him to DO A BARREL ROLL!!
