cleaning turbo compressor wheel

took apart a to4b for its compressor wheel and housing..

I dont care much for the rest of the housing, i cleaned it with a wire brush and some 1200 grit sand paper, enough to knock out alot of it really smooth and not enough to worry about removing material.

Just need some suggestions on the compressor wheel, still has some oxidation on it. thanks.

If you really care, just sand blast it. I worked at a turbo reman shop. Just blast it at low pressure so you don't bend anything.

You'd probably be less concerned of bending and more concerned with removing too much material and throwing the wheel off balance. But sandblasting seems like the most effective way to clean that oxidation off.

Dont sand blast it... Soda blast it or use a really good cleaner and a soft brass wire brush.

i dont have any carb cleaner but i even tried lacquer thinner.
Im thinking i should call around to see if they can be dip cleaned?

WTF is lacquer thinner going to do? I mean maybe if you said "I even tried MEK" But, that doesn't look like varnish.

Get some CRC Carb Cleaner and hose that wheel down.

dip it in some trichlorethylene... or soda blast it since thats legal to buy :D

There's nothing wrong with sandblasting it with low pressure.
