port head, raise compression (pistons, shave head, etc) + race gas, cams, timing, free flowing intake and exhaust (individual throttle bodies?), remove power steering and a/c, dry sump, blah blah blah
probably not worth it though...

not to stereotype but you're only 19 so i'm ASSUMING you want things that are bolt on (i.e. not rebuilding the motor lol). here is what i would suggest...
-intake
-throttle body
-intake manifold (possibly)
-camshafts, valve springs, retainers (depending on your budget)
-headers
-full exhaust
-either an ecu reflash or some type of piggy back to tie in all the above
(standalone is suggested but again, depends on your salary)

^^ Still would be less than 200hp....
Deal with low power out put or just turbo it.
OR all motor V8 might solve your problem.

yeah but he is a kid, i don't think he is looking for maxium performance.i guess he is just doing the cheapest things he can to make it "faster" then what it is for the time being.

Dude, this has been discussed over 10,000 times.
Search for N/A KA or All Motor KA or something like that.
Its not worth your time or money. Forced Induction is pretty much the only cost effective solution for decent power numbers. People who build N/A KA's either do it to be different or to conform to certain class rules or whatnot, not because it is cost effective in any way, shape, or form. However, a KA with intake/header/exhaust and a good differential can make plenty power and torque for your 19 year old ass to have fun (or get in trouble) with. Add some cams and a tune if its not enough.

This + Google really is everything you need to know about NA ka.
Google "Greasers NA Ka24de".....Its the highest output non GT3/Race Truck Ka that i've seen.
However my personal advice to is not to go past intake and exhaust. It's just not worth the money in my opinion. It would be smarter to save for turbo/swap/350z or whatever else floats your boat.

weight reduction, and suspension is good idea to start. underdrive cranck pulley.
body kit makes it faster too lol!(JK)

If you have the money then build the motor.
As stated before, all the bolt ons, valvetrain, high compression, and race gas...

Know how you make the most power, cheapest, and easiest?
Put a 75 wet shot on it. Don't use it all over town, and you'll be fine.
Anyone that tells you nitrous blows up engines is either an idiot, or has no experience with it, or abuses it from every light. Go figure, the same came be said about any F/I. In fact I'm sure we all can agree that the ratio of blown up shit froma turbo is much higher than a nitrous car.
Again, buy nitrous, install it, keep it simple, and enjoy it. 75 hit will be safe, and will probably make close to 200 whp...that's more than a full bolt on car.

Matt Powers 400hp plus Turbo KA out of his Formula D car might be for sale still.
Think its around $7000
