NP, it's used to hold up the engine while you drop the subframe. Or if you remove the trans sometimes the engine moves backwords and rubs the firewall or forward and hits the radiator shroud or fins.

Changing the oil pan gasket is real easy

I used it for a 13b rotary swap in a corolla. Held the engine and trans in place. I had problems with using the hydraulic jack cause it would lower itself after a few days. I only work on the on weekends and the engine would be about 2in lower then I had left it.
Using the sling no more need to adjust it into place to make the mounts
