will the doch cluster (91-93 analog) plug n play in my 90 harness or is there some rewiring? if so what? if it is cheaper to get the doch custer to work than a big tach, ill do that. plus its on the low.

I think the plug will match but your tach will not work. You need to swap it with one from a SOHC. The signal from the speed sensor is not the same ...

someone can clarify this ? but i think the rest of the cluster will work fine...

search search search

KA24E/CA18DE/CA18DET do not use the same tach signal as KA24DE/SR20DE/SR20DET

If you have KA24E and are swapping a SR/KA24DE you need the KA24DE tach so you can swap out the KA24E tach. A SR20DE/DET tach will also work.

You can swap out the whole cluster, but its illegal (then again your motorswap is also illegal, so whatever). Also I am not sure that it will be plug and play.

If you have a digital speedo you are effectively ****ed. Get a aftermarket tach or take a SR20/KA24DE tach and a CA18/KA24E and swap the guts.

or you can tap the CAS wire. (20 i think?) either way, using method one will result in the tach being off by about a grand below 5k, and off by a little less than 200 or so past that. the CAS will result with it being off also all the time but i dont know by how much.

good luck

heres what you do, cut the plug off the KA harness and wire it to the SR harness (just match the colors), that way itll still be plug n play

i must not have been real clear. i already know that my tach doesnt work with my sr. everything else works fine. my question was what rewiring. in my search i couldnt find the actual rewiring. it seems no one has done it.
DJ that sounds like it would work. ill probably just end up getting a tach that matches my other gauges.
