I will start off by saying that I have read a bunch of threads and I know that there will be a ton of opinions on this. My car is daily driven and I am really just getting in to modding the car. I am looking to drop the car 1.5" to 2" at the most because the roads suck where I live. I am planning on 17" or 18" staggered wheels. I really don't do any Autocrossing (I did with my Saleen Mustang) but I may once I get this car where I want it. I will be doing a 5spd conversion real soon. I want to get the suspension, brakes (complete r32 set up front and rear), and wheels and tires done first. I will be looking to do a sr20 turbo set up later. I thought about doing a G35 running gear, but I'm not sure what that would take to do. I have been in the body shop business for 15+ yrs and have connections on getting G35 stuff, that's down the road. A local guy here told me to go coilovers and not waste my time getting new struts with lowering springs. Please tell me what you guys think. I really enjoy reading all the threads on here and most of the people I have asked questions to have been very helpful. I really appreciate everyones input.

Depends on the firmness in your suspension you want and depends how much you want to spend. Keep in mind I've never rode on any of these, but its more depending on your price range. If you could afford expensive coils I'd tell you to get DG-5s with swift springs, but it's probably not in your price range sooo... Also, you're going to probably have to get rear upper control arms along with your coilovers so keep that in mind as well.
Fortune Auto -> Megan -> Powered By Max -> Stance -> Tein -> Cusco -> Ohlins / DG-5
Take your pick, cheapest to expensive.
Any reason your not just waiting til you get an SR20 to do a 5-speed swap at the same time? It doesn't make much sense to buy two trannys for no reason.

I was thinking of the middle of the road as far as the coilovers. I'm a working stiff not a ceo, so I'm gonna have to Megan or Powered By Max and the 5 spd conversion, I was told that the trannys are the same only the bellhousing is different. I'm not going to be doing the SR20 for a while so I didn't want to wait till next year for the 5 spd.

I've used 2 sets of coilovers on my S14 and here's how I've felt about them...
Tien HX coilovers (dual spring, 32way adj?, camber plates) came on my car when I first purchased it. Looks like they've been on the car for some time, never really had a complaint about them.
I received a set of brand new Ksport Pros and swapped them for my old Tien's and instantly hated it. The ride was just too stiff, even after I spent some time adjusting them.
About 2 weeks later I swapped back to the Tien's and sold the Ksports to a buddy. In my opinion go with the Tien's if you can afford it. Not hating on Ksports in general, that was just my experience with them. I know alot of people love em, but not my cup of tea. Oh yea, my car is daily driven. Hasn't really seen any track time, minus a handful of 1/8mile runs and alot of spirited driving on backroads.

well the PBM's will be super stiff for DD. You can always swap out for some 6k springs all the way around (that's what my buddy did and he loves it.) I would get the STANCE LX's if you want comfort, they are a little pricey but not too much more. Fortune auto 500's is what i have and i love them personally.

For a comfy DD i'd go to HKS preformer, granted they are not cheap but they ride like butter and have all the adj stuff you guys look 4.
Also they are GREAT 4 autocross, time attack etc. and the more usage the more comfy they get. i have them on 2JZ S14 (nose heavy) and they are A-OK
