let me help you out...if you go to the junkyard and/or know someone with a sohc ka24e starter from a manual you can swap the bad stuff in your sr starter housing with the ka24e stuff. I rebuilt mine this way and it actually kicks over better than it did with the stock sr one...maybe due to the fact of the extra displacement and heavier crank in the ka engine. Anyway just thought I'd share that.

here's a pic of when I did it. It's pretty apparent of what's bad in yours(if you have one) when you take it apart...
