problem with last years was that there were so few submissions that i had to really push to make everything work...this year we had AMPLE submissions which made things ALOT better...there were a few cars i wanted to use that didnt make it simply because people didnt respond to their emails :(

Is the aspect ratio of the pictures kept intact? In the 2010 calendar, all the cars seemed squished and they looked all wrong :(

everything should be perfect with this years. i was given incorrect sizing with last years so the images were distorted :(

well i made them slightly dark for a resaon...it helps to hide the pixelation due to smaller photos when i blow some of these pics of to the size they need to be...alot of people send in low res photos so i have a method of blowing them up, but it requires an "artsy" look to hide the resizing

i thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink we might try a different print shop next year...i have a few minor things that im not 100% with...but im REALLY picky when it comes to output from my print vendors

Ah, makes total sense then. I'm sure it must be a total pain dealing with all of the submissions and people not following the guidelines- I don't envy you on that one man. :)

We still have some left for ordering and I will get orders mailed the next morning.

Remember, all proceeds (after paying the production/printing costs for the calendar) go to maintaining the site and servers, along with paying for our hosting and bandwidth.

For those that are interested, Zilvia sees just under 6 million pageviews each month and we use almost 600GB of bandwidth each month.

It's a shame people can't get high res photos to you. It's really not that difficult. I literally have 6-10 friends with legit camera setups who would shoot my car just for fun. I shall submit photos for 2012 I suppose.

I have the calendar and agree that it a little too dark/blurry. I understand some submissions were too small etc, but this should be a requirement to be properly sized, instead of optional. Having ones car in this calendar would be an honor, so taking the extra steps to submit a proper sized photo shouldn't be too much to ask.

basically if i had to wait around for people to get me properly sized photos...there wouldnt be a calendar...most people really have no clue when it comes to proper sized images for print...im not insulting anyone, its just a subject that a lot folks just simply dont understand because they have no experience in the field of print.

another problem lies in the fact that i dont have the profile for the machines output to use in photoshop...this would give me a MUCH better idea of where their black range i set to which makes a WORLD of difference...some printers have their presses calibrated with heavier black ink laydown and some have it the complete opposite

heh...and its not really blurry...theres just a lot of BLOOM ;)

(a term im sure a lot of you gamers are familiar with hehehe)
