Well I'm new to this forum and 240's so I'll say hi all!

But I'm going to be getting my first rwd car soon (one that has power anyway) and I have it stitched in my head that rwd will spin me out and will kill me. How do 240's perform in accordance with understeer/oversteer? I know it depends on the setup, but I'm asking this as a generalized idea. I know that people say, "it holds until my right foot gets heavy" but what I don't understand is how you can recover from that without crashing. Highspeed + oversteer = bad.

And yes, i will be autocrossing/road racing it.

seat time.

Dont get caught up with steps you read on the internet. Tips from experienced driver can help, but it is mostly developing that muscle memory of feeling the Gs you exert in which direction, and reacting to it.

I'm very intune with that. I've only owned FWD's but still encounter oversteer and understeer and the like, its just easier with fwd as half of the time all you have to do is hammer the gas and it (sometimes) straightens you out.

I road raced my s14 (stock suspension) and it didnt feel like it was going to spin out or anything i was driving at Phoenix International Raceway..but yeah just take your car out there and learn the car on what it wants to do and when

really is the only way to learn. Just like you i came from FF to FR. Take your seat time to learn to drive the car first, than test yourself little by little and improve by time. If you try to go to crazy at first something will happen.

Hmmm well it seems I have the correct way of thinking. Now to get a car...

i road raced my 95 s14 in the mountains lol. it only had lowering springs and kyb agx shocks. it handled pretty good. You could go faster then you think. that car had a point where you could go a little bit faster then it feels in the corners. The tires would start to squeek during the turn but you could still go somewhat faster. just be careful dont go too fast.

ohh and i only got oversteer when i took the corner waay too fast and hit the brakes too late or downshifted too hard. but really i like oversteering better than understeering. i got understeer many times too but i would just let off the accel or sometimes even give it some gas. but thats me on MY setup. yours is different.

Of course it is. But HIGH speed oversteer is unfavorable. setting up for low speed cornering wont aid high speed!
