As strange as the swap sounds, its almost done.
Reason I say ka24de to ka24e is because I picked up a shell that had the ka24de body harness/electrical harness in it (harness that connects to gauge cluster/rest of the interior) and I have a ka24e motor that I'm putting in it. I believe I have all bolted up and now I'm having some questions/problems when it comes to connecting the harness. I have the harness connected to a ka24e ecu, but where the ka24e harness connects to the interior electrical, the brown connector and the white cable don't match up, I seen reviews/diy even youtube videos step by step on how to go from sohc to dohc, but how does it work when its the opposite? I know the 4 wires that are literally in the same location but what about the rest of the wires that are on the dohc harness, are there grounds that need to be hooked up or other vital wires that need to be connected for everything to work?
Another quick question is what fuse or wire has consistant power to it? I just wired up everything up to the connetion on the interior harness and want to make sure i'm getting power so at least I know i somewhat did some connections properly. I'm getting very pestimistic about the project because its been taking too long and I'm no 5 star mechanic. I just want to make sure something is getting juice so I know something is at least right
If i put my foot on the brake pedal shouldn't my rear brake lights light up even with the key not in the ignition? Idk. This is a lot to read and I really do appreciate anyone that reads this through and understands and has some insight for me. Any info or ideas would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
