Ok, I am going to get subs for my 1990 240sx hatch back. I have heard 10s and they bump like hell with the proper set up. I havnt heard two twelves but people told me it would be too much for my car since its a hatch back and its just open space from the trunk. I dont care about the price (25 dollars more on etronics.com for 2 12s in a box than 2 tens, theyre visonik- read nothing but good things about them) I just havnt heard two twelves and dont know if it would be too much, especially in a band pass box in a small car like mine. So just post what you think I should get. Thanks in advance. Also, I know the amp matters a whole lot, but does the deck matter alot when dealing with subs?

Anything past factory is to large. Just adds weight.

To Polls we go...

seriously though how much watts do they take, that's what really matters. I have 2 12's that take 550 each in my hatch, and i just constantly turn them down. But its all up to you, I would first find a friend with 12's or something that has equal watts to what your gonna get and listen to them.

720_datsun- How much did the w7 run you?? Also does the box even fit in the hatch, because the box for the w7 is huge. My w3's barely fit.

the 10 inch subs are 500 watts max and 250 watts RMS for each one, so 1000 max and 500 rms for both combined

Ive never owned a hatch back car before but it seems to me if you put 2 12s in there its gonna rattle that hatch. You gonna have all the neighborhood kids pointin and laughing. I have an s14 and i have 1 infinity 10 and it used to rattle the hell out of my trunk (used hella dynomat to fix that) But if you can find some way to keep that hatch from rattling or wutever i would go with the 12s anyday.
