Ok guys, im havin an issue as of late with my rear feeling loose as hell when im driving. I checked everything and it everything is tight. Car has had aftermarket RUCAs on it since I bought the car and just recently started feeling like the back is slipping out over bumps and railroad tracks. I need to figure out this issue as this is my daily. Any help very appreciated.

Thanks
-Bill

you have toe out in the back, it happened to me when I corrected my camber and it was suuupeeer scary

or
your subframe bushings are shot, also check to see corrosion at the subframe bolts

it took me the better part of a week to get my alignment set perfect with 0 camber and 0 toe in the back using my do-it-yourself alignment gauge, but it was well worth it haha

... why would you run 0 camber? "In spec" as recommended by nissan is -1.2 - -1.4 iirc

Cuz when you corner and the suspension loads the - camber increases... so during aggressive cornering I do have negative camber, just not while I'm driving in a straight line and don't need it, all that does is wear out your tires

not to burst your bubble....but have you seen what body roll does to a car....cause if you are at zero...and you roll, that brings it to a positive even if your car squats a little.

just saying...might want to put a camera on your tire. I'm sure the years of people grip driving...there's a reason why they run -1 in the back.

As I understand it I always thought that body roll occurs above the suspension components (body roll not suspension roll), and the suspension geometry remains the same. I do acknowledge that the some positive camber is gained in cornering, but seeing that I daily drive my car 99.99% of the time and dont really need the increase in handling capabilities and I like my tires I set it at 0, actually its about -1/2

how the hell could body roll occur "above the suspension"!?

changed my subframe bushings and it fixed my loose rear end problem. i went with solid aluminum bushings. they're loud but it doesnt bother me. launching the car is so much more fun now

1. the fella has been driving for less than 2 years

2. he needs to pay off a ticket with $5 tire installs

3. His specifications are surely > specifications determined by Nissan's engineers

alright guys, calm down... the guy said he wants zero camber which is FINE for his style of "99.99% of dailying". he asked a question, the question was answered... bring the suspension geometry questions to the suitable threads. e-douchebaggery isn't necessary on EVERY thread. geez.

you know you are completely right....except for the fact that when some noob accidentally finds this thread....and see's this guys post...he'll assume that's a great setup.

we at zilvia...just don't want misleading information. no matter how uncredible this may be.

regardless....
why do people say they have a drift/daily setup.

you can technically drift anything rwd...so would that make everything a good drift setup? Or is there an actual "drift setup":rl:

Like my solid axle truck with zero camber? I keep it zero because it's my "daily setup", and my 240 has -3... that's my "drift setup". Now would I go out of my way to put retarded camber on something that I don't plan on cornering or drifting? NO. It would do nothing but eat the tires, and look dumb as hell. So if he doesn't drift his 240 (heaven forbid there's a 240 that doesnt get drifted on zilvia...), then he doesn't need camber.

1. You're an asshole and you can look on a number of other threads if you need proof that I know about suspension geometry, I'm sure fckillerbee will agree (no offense to him)

2. If you're not gonna help me out and have me install a set of tires for you I could care less about your opinion

3. I DID AN ALIGNMENT JOB IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A BUBBLE CAMBER GUAGE.. I'm 17 and I'm continually learning about my car, the last thing on my mind right now with getting into college and everything is forking over 80 bucks for some idiot to align my car "professionally" and to "factory specs"

I just looked over the "drift entrance/techniques form" and there's people talking about how they run + camber in the back, only so when the car squats or the suspension loads it returns to 0, so with mine being set at roughly 0 then it should squat or load to some amount of - camber. And this is not my "drift" setup or "daily" setup.. this is my "I'm 17 and I have better things to spend my non-existent money on than tires" setup
