So just a few days ago my SR started making some noise from seemingly the head as well as starting to run a little hotter than usual (usually always stays right in the middle, now going up a bar more)

YouTube - Sr20DET head noise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqHGBDQFLmw&feature=player_embedded)

Making a noise somewhat similar to that, mostly from the intake manifold side.

Also I drove home an hour and a half yesterday, everything fine, then got off the freeway and car started to heat up and wouldn't stop. I parked it and popped the hood to see what was happening, and didnt see anything, so I drove it around the lot again to see if it would heat back up and it partially did, to about 3/4 of the gauge.

Then popped the hood in better lighting and saw that something had leaked into the fan and sprayed all over the hot and cold pipe and underside of the hood, as well as something was leaking under the car itself (only a little, not a constant leak).

Oil levels in the car are just fine, leads me to believe its coolant.

Had a mile to get home and couldn't leave the car where it was, drove it there. Temperature was all over the place between normal and hot.

There is no coolant in the reservoir tank currently.

Help? Where should I go from here? Car has been sitting since this happened two days ago.

Did you replace the water pump when you did the swap?

Swap was not done by me it was done by a shop when the previous owner owned it.

Everything on the car is from the SR though, it was a complete swap from a clip and they put everything back on

Anyone else got any ideas?

I would say that your water pumps bearing and seal went.

It could be your timing chain tensioner. Nissan updated it a some years ago. Don't forget that injectors make a noise, which I hear in your video. In any case, it sounds like normal valve-train noise; it is not as if it's totally silent; perhaps you didn't notice it before.

A vid of your actual Engine noise would help more.

If it sounds like that vid its the HLA's (Lifters) they have air in them and need to be bled

If that noise started recently I would check your oil pressure

Alright. Well the noise is second in concern to the leaking and overheating problems.

S14 I think you could be right, I'll check it out tomorrow when its light and see if thats the case.

So added coolant and temp is fine now, let it warmed up and looked for any leaks, drove it around the block, cant find anything leaking whatsoever.

Could it have been a gasket that was affected by the pretty intense cold we had a week ago but is now fine? Or driving before car was warmed up all the way

Around the block in winter will not get the car up to temperature. Need some pressure to get the leak to occur. One of the auto stores should have a pressure tester. Take off the radiator cap then pump it up to 14psi then hunt for leaks.
