hey everyone, my name is ian, i live in chicago but go to school in carbondale. this is more of a feeler just to see what i can get. if the right offer comes along ill make a deal. anyways onto the details.

ive owned my car for three years and in those three years i spent much of that time working on the body and the underbody as it was in less-than-perfect condition.

basically the car was torn down to the point where only the motor/trans and the dash was left. the rust on the underside was cut around, and had gal-steel double layered(just like the factory) in place of the pieces removed. the whole rear suspension was taken apart, cleaned of any rust(i had access to a sandblasting cabinet), and then either painted or powder coated. the painting consisted of two steps, first etch primer to seal it, then a couple layers of black paint. the front recieved the same treatment, and many parts were replaced with new ones, including the struts, some bushings and a couple arms, and the front and rear brakes were rebuilt using toyota OEM parts. after everything was back in place, the underside(especially around the pinch welds) was covered in black rubber undercoated for extra protection against chicago winters.

during the time when the front suspension was apart, i found that the drivers side inner axle race(trans side) was scored up. so the trans was pulled separate from the motor, and sent to a trans shop. the trans was taken apart, inspected anything that was bad was replaced, including the final drive unit, and then refilled with toyota OEM gear oil. the clutch i discovered was an OEM+ from AISIN as was the pressure plate.

the body work consisted of removing an imperfections(dents, dings scratches etc.) and remove and prevent any rust. the front recieved the most work, as the fenders were in bad shape. i bought used fenders from a member here, a brand new grill, side markers, headlight overlays and quite a few other parts. the car was then treated to a full respray, including door jambs and hatch jamb. the car was originally grey metallic, and is currently toyota super white, but instead of doing a single stage paint job, there are two layers of heavy PPG clear over the three layers of super white paint. the car has been clay barred a couple of times, to remove any imperfections in the paint. and not to toot my own horn, but its a really badass paint job.

now for the interior. its a little rough, which by that i mean, the drivers seat has some tears and passenger seat is worn a bit, the steering wheel shows its age a bit, but over its very clean. the carpets received a shampoo, and everything that is plastic or leather received a thorough cleaning. the rear seats are immaculate with very little sun wear, and look they have never been sat in.

the motor is strong and the odometer shows just under 135k miles, which is not at all what it feels like. the motor has never been opened up as far as i know, but the previous was a shady guy and couldve left that out. but what ive done as far as maintenance: plugs, wires, rotor, cap, oil changes with only synthetic castrol. ive also replaced many of the vacuum lines with higher quality rubber lines, and i also have two new axle seals and a new fuel filter.

now onto modifications. there arent many and theyre pretty basic. starting with a vibrant filter on the factory intake, the car also has a freshly rebuilt Supra CT26 with 165 wastegate, in the stock position, a Two's R' Us MBc set at 9-10psi, vibrant FMIC core with CXRacing custom piping. Aussie downpipe coupled with a custom straight pipe exhaust to a flowmaster turbo muffler, sounds amazing. I also have put in speed source shifter bushings for the base and the cable. there is also a cruise of japan shift knob with a custom crown royal shift boot, made me.

over all the car is in great condition now, and runs and drive amazing. I see about 28 highway and about 22 city, at the current boost setting. it boosts great, hits full spool at about 3k and it sounds like hell when the turbo is lit. its never over heated on me, has a new thermostat, new upper and lower rad hose. never really had any problems what so ever with the car as far as running issues.

but enough about the car, ill let the pics speak for themselves.

Im looking for anything really thats of equal or greater cleanliness. by anything i mean civic, 240's RX7's etc. or another awd turbo vehicle. the cars comes with a few extra parts, and a lot of the parts that are not on the car that i had duplicates of, and including the AC system. i can be reached at 773 three two zero two nine two five.

Fyi, doesn't really matter what your brother's production number is. If he doesn't have a 93 All Trac, the low production number doesn't mean anything nor will it raise the value of the car.

my car was originally pewter grey metallic production number 3978. it has every option except the sun roof.

my ideal price would 5500 with everything.

Why do the bumpers on the white one fit like such shit?

SleepingTurbo
12-06-2010, 09:02 PM
well theyre the same car. and its not that that bumpers fit like shit, they in fact are not completely on the car. there are two bumper fairings, one on either side, that complete the look of the bumper. they are painted and ready to go on, just not have had the time, with school and such, to get them on and in place.

to the top. looking to trade for something RWd and stick. has to be as clean as my car, dont really want to deal with body work.

looking for a 240 hatch really, if it has an SR that would be awesome, if not thats cool. cash can go either way, not really a problem. will come with a fresh oil change and oil pan gasket, HKS Fuel Cut Defencer and Greddy Electronic Boost controller.

thanks man. i took alot of time and made the body work as close to perfect as possible. my plan was to one day make it 100% completely stock again, but that would cost me more than i could ever imagine.
