whats up guys, just wanted to introduce my new project. nothin too special, but i love it, so its special to me. i originally owned the car about a year ago and sold it as a shell. i bought it back from my buddy and im tearing into again. i rebuilt a single cam for it, i know... why a single cam? i had it layin around and id never rebuilt a motor and this was cheap and easy to learn on. so with the help of an experienced friend we rebuilt it and even though its just a single cam, im excited to hear it run. so ive had the car for about two weeks now and me and some friends have been sanding the engine bay down getting it ready for paint. i built a makeshift paint booth in my garage and i plan on spraying the engine bay tomorrow. so here are a few pics of the cars over the past two weeks

haha thanks for not hatin everybody. i did an sr swap in this exact car when i first bought it. i bought all good parts for it, everything brand new. except the motor of course. i got the motor through jsamotors.com because a local guy has been running an sr from them reliably for 4 years. turns out mine was missing a valve shim and i didnt notice it until i started it up for the first time and heard it run horribly. i took the head apart and that wasnt the only problem. it didnt get oil up to the cams and burnt the surfaces pretty bad. after that i lost interest, sold everything and cut my losses. this is my 7th 240, all the others have been ka's and ive always had fun with them so ive decided to just be happy with the ka for a while. so the plans for this one is all suspension, lsd of course, and some other bolt ons. just want a reliable car that fun. anyway, gotta get busy, the engine bay is calling me. i'll probably have pics up tonight of the engine bay painted up. its a different color. for anyone thats ever been on a c130, its the gray thats used on the inside of the plane. not glossy, its a flat color but i shoot it all the time at work so i know how to mix it and im confident with my ability to spray it

ok so id like some feedback on this idea... i have enough paint to mix to paint the whole car this color so im thinking about painting it this color. and since this is the actual paint that the air force uses on some planes i thought it wold be cool to put a pin up girl on the doors like right under the mirrors like they did on the old fighter jets. anyone think that woul be cool? if so im gonna do it... i think it would look good but i dont wanna get flamed haha

Do whatever you like and don't worry about haters. I think it could turn out well. What are your plans on suspension?

If you have the front end for it I say keep the champagne. Theren't aren't many nice champagne coupes around.

thats paint? looks primer to me. a bit more effort would be nice, cutoff the auto resistor holder.... more masking etc

havent updated on the coupe lately, so here's some new pics of it. got it running and i was stoked, this is the first motor that ive rebuilt. since getting it running ive gotten a lot of new haters in the local community. it is said to be loud, rude, and ugly. but i love it.

first stage. never actually drove it like this cause i was waiting for exhaust. bought exhaust and coilovers at the same time.

found some b.s. aero crap in a junkyard so i threw it on
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m125/tailout240/IMG_0315.jpg
i scored some lame 962's local for cheap. had em on for about a week and wanted better fitment so i odered PBM 30mm spacers front and rear and another set of the 9j 962's for the front. while i was waiting on them i remembered i had some wide fenders on a junk car so i put those on to prepare for the wider wheels and spacers. i know the wheels are crap but this is also my first time learning wheel fitment so i wanted to do it on a budget.

little slide action. its bauer, not beiber haha. i was makin fun of one of my buddies
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m125/tailout240/IMG_0081.png
then i had a buddy offer me a deal on his silvia front that i absolutely could not turn down. ive wanted a silvia front coupe since i was 17, finally i got it.

so the new wheels i ordered for the fronts were supposed to match but the gold/polish was out of stock. so i settled for a different color. my plan is to paint the car and then powder coat the wheels

Remove stickers, Throw away that "aero", Keep stock body and paint. That car doesn't have to be gross looking, It has a straight body. You're obviously having fun with it and that's cool just don't be that guy claiming to have a missle car because you're too lazy to take care of it.

Well the aero is not on the car anymore, I just wanted to try it because I've never ran aero before. It wasn't for me really. It was cool for a little bit, buy I don't consider my car to be a missile. I didn't like how all the body lines went to crap with it on. Now that I have the Silvia front it will probably never see any aero again
