View Full Version : Anyone have this problem with wheel cleaner?

I followed the directions and applied the cleaner to wheels. Only the front wheels were stained not the rear. Any help will do.

:( You're only supposed to use VERY mild wheel cleaner... or just soap and water on clear coated lips such as volk/work.

you will need to get them re-finished, imo. here is one company that does that exact repair. they have several locations.

thanks ill check em' out. there's a couple places out here in AZ but i was trying to avoid that route. You have any idea of what that normally cost?

It was Eagle 1 and people said it was good stuff. No more wheel cleaning products for me!

Listen to what I'm saying... you CANNOT use regular wheel cleaners on clear coated wheels such as work/volk. Please read up on their finish and how to clean them so it doesn't happen again. Refinishing the lips is an expensive mistake, one I doubt you'll feel like repeating once you get the bill.

Also any acid based (best) wheel cleaners, will destroy chrome/polish.
Pure acid wheel cleaners are the shit, if used properly. Mind you, they will burn your skin and clothing.
