S14 Kouki brought back to life

hey guys, i thought i'll post up what i did with my s14 for these couple months. I had a 380hp Z32 that i sold, and after 2 weeks of selling it, i found this S14 kouki in san fran. it was a 2 hour drive, but i didnt care....drove there with a tow truck, picked up the whole car for $2300.

ordered a fender from thenismoshop, $387 and after a week and a half, still didnt recive it. called them and they said they had to back order it, but they recived it that day and i should get it in 3 buisness days. why couldnt they call me or email me to tell me that. then i called them after another waiting and they said that they forgot to ship it out...WTF? so after talking to him, he finally shipped it out and send me a tracking number. i got it 3 days later.

as of now, the car has been completed, and is being painted. im going tommorow to the shop to put the whole car together. the car is being painted forest green. its the OEM color.

then i just have to buy a shift boot, radio bezel, alpine deck, and rims.

im buying either the rota P45r or im going for the xxr 527. 18.9.75 in the rear and 18x8.75 in the front with +20 all around

S14's only have one cat (in the downpipe).

So, I don't see why it wouldn't, unless it's running like shit, you've got a CEL, or you have a 20" exhaust.

so i got the car back from the paint guy. he finished the paint. as i was waiting for him to come out, the glass guy came and installed a window for me.

put the bumpers on, lights on...installed the HID's. 5000k. they look really blue in pic. IDK why.

uuummmm well it was cheap, but in the end, it all evens out. this car cost me $5800 already, and i still need to buy a cat, some $100 emmsion valve, and rims. so in the end, im thinkin it will cost me around $8000. with rims that is.
the car is still a clean title. thats one of the things that caught my attention. a good reason to buy this car.

tommo, finish passenger side door, put all moldings, mount the JDM spoiler, put side skirts maybe.

also, the car a shifter with 212k on it.....it is the worst thing about the car....next to the $13 steering wheel.....i have to change that asap....makes driving a little less enjoyable..

but the power is ok i guess for a 2.4 liter.....hit the rev limiter already a couple times sliding. not used to the short gears.

thanks. about the wing, it look decent. my freind made me get it. he had a kouki and regreted keeping the stock se spoiler when he painted it. he really wanted to get the JDM wing. the car is probably as low as i want it right now. gotta get rims, and then see how much lower can i go without to much camber.....the only body kit i liked was the orgin, but...for some reason i wanted to stick to oem body lines.
but saying that, later in the spring, after i get the rims, im going to get the greddy front lip (if i can find a good condition one), zenki side skirts, and the rear valances...that will add a lot to the way the car looks.

The trans was stuck - thought I needed a new one, but they were able to get it fixed. Has a new radiator now, fusebox wired up, and I drove it :w00t:
but yeah, need all the cosmetics now :(

So the car does have redline shockproof. Previous owner let me know. The only complain that I have is that it grinds when u put it in 2nd when it's cold. But when it warms up, it's all good.


Also tryed to get the car smogged, and I couldn't do it the first time. The guy said my cat sensor was not ready. Told me to go drive the car some more. I drove it about 30 more miles, took it to a different shop, and it passed....sweet.

Mine does the same shit, grinds 2nd when its cold.

I used Redline MT90, 2qts of that and 1qt of Redline MTL. The MTL is compatible with MT90 and thins out the heaver MT90 for less grinds on cold start. Don't put too much of the MTL since you need it thick to smoothen the shifts. When I bought my s14, some idiot put regular engine oil in it. When I drained it out I could see bits of brass floating around. It really helped out my 3rd and 5th gear grinds under normal driving. My trans is junk anyways but at least I can drive it.

no i ended up keeping the 240. i got a cd player for it, all the interior peices, smogged it, and registred it.

i daily it, and its a ok car. the temp doesnt really get that high when its raining, or cold outside...i think im running no thermestat...got to fix that.

about the 300zx, i will most likely get one after the 240sx...i really like those cars, and my buddie knows all about them. so im good with that.

ok guys, my brother gave me his 2002 Q45 to fix (replace his intake, it ripped)
after driving that car. i relize its time for me to move on. im selling the s14.
