View Full Version : Should this PS13 be dismantled?

I have seen and dismantled quite a few cars with tons of after market parts on them. However, I am having a little trouble on deciding whether to dismantle this PS13 or leave it as it is for a new home outside Japan.
The list of parts on this S13 is too long to list here, I am posting the link for everyone.

What troubles me most is the reminder of the guy who sold it to me. He was looking at the car with a very sad face and talking to the car. He Thanked the car for the good times and said a very SAD good bye to it after I loaded it on my carrier. 2ndly and more importantly, it seems like he very rarely used the car. The parts are still very new and ideal to dismantle and sell out.

Your comments plz...

That depends on where you live here in the states. If you live in a very smog friendly part of the country i would keep it, register it and drive it around. If you live where cars are hated (i.e. California) and smog is a pain in the ass, just rip it apart and sell it off, piece by piece.

You bring it over to the US and no one will buy it being that all American's & Zilvia owners are broke, and to top it off are cheap asses. If you really think this car shouldn't be dismantled, then keep it for yourself if you can afford it. But if you need the income then part her out.

depends on your connections and your willingness to part it. We have a large market in North America for lightly used JDM parts, especially here in Canada with our 15 Year rule. Many of us have bought RHD cars and like the quality behind many of the japanese names. Unfortunatly some people out here cannot constantly afford brand new brand named parts. I could vouch that we could find you buyers for many of the parts on that car here in Canada. PM me if you would like.

HAHA I love this post! Oh and my vote is to keep it if you don't really need the money. Leave it as is and enjoy it!

He actually had made two custom bumpers specifically made for this car. He offered me the 2nd one for 50,000yen which I turned down. The front bumpers are very light with that carbon. and it takes only a few screws to attach.

With all the comments, I am going to try to find a new home for her. If not, then part out is the way to go.

It's sad but true, Look at the F/S forum, I know a few guys trying to push legit parts, and even a clean HICAS car for reasonable prices and no one is biting. Imagine how long it would take to fint a legitimate buyer who actually has the money to spend? Importing a car isn't cheap doesn't matter if it's a legitimate import or not.

...And about American's and Zilvia members being cheap broke asses, the truth hurts but I'll admit it, I'm one of them. lol

Keep it unless the money is a pressing issue. I regret selling one of my S13's that was not nearly as nice as that

This is stupid.
If he wasnt in Japan you would all be saying what I am saying...instead of biting his tip.

Make your own decisions.
