Also the insurance adjuster looked over my car today and said it going to be a "total loss" I will know more by monday whats going to happen with my car.

if the insurance adjuster says it'll be a total loss, it probably will.... u can either buy it back and fix it, or take the money and run. if i was you, i'd probably do the latter.

Something similar happened to my brother once - he bought the car back for like $200 and then took the money insurance gave him, bought a parts car and fixed the front end.

I'd suggest you buy the car back if the insurance totals it out and fix it, if you want to keep it. Damage up front doesn't look too bad, you'll probably a New Rad support, Bumper, Head Lights, Grill and Paint. I couldn't see you getting less than $2500-$3000 for the car, and if you're thrifty enough you should be able to fix the damage for half of that.

u will have a salvage title though (if u care about that sort of thing)

take the insurance $, buy your car back. you can either part it out (profit!!!) or just keep it and fix it, it'll just have a salvage title.
btw, check my f/s threads, i've got s14 hood hinges, modified to open 90degrees+

My car was considered a total loss and it does NOT have a salvage title.

A total loss simply means that the cost of fixing the damage exceeds a certain percentage of the determined value of the vehicle. Im not sure if it varies state to state or insurance company to insurance company, but I was payed full value of my car, bought it back for $100, and it does NOT have a salvage title. This was all through the insurance company, and to my knowledge they do not have the authority to change the status of a title.

It could be different in other states though.

Definitely fixable. Shouldn't be much to fix considering how cheap those parts go for these days.

My G20 was in a front end collision a few weeks ago. I thought it wouldn't come out right either. Picked up new front end parts, took it down to a collision repair shop, they straightened out the frame, welded on the new core support, aligned all the front end parts, and I was good to go.

Frame was actually shifted over pretty bad.

Only hood I could find was black and decided to "fix" my front bumper. It was either run a black bumper(uh, no) or fix my damaged OEM red bumper. Still trying to hunt down an OEM red hood so I won't have to bother painting the black one. You can see where the bumper doesn't line up with the passenger side headlight, but that's because of how crushed in the bumper was. I took a heat gun to it and popped out the dent. Didn't need it to be perfect since I'll be swapping it out for a different bumper early next year.

If you buy it back, you still get the settlement. You'll probably be able to buy it back for next to nothing.

Buy Back
Part Out
Keep Settlement
Profit

ok so I just got off the phone with the insurance company they said my car is worth $4,400 " I paid $5,000 back in jan of 2010" so its not all to bad. They said it would be worth $300 at a salvage auction so they are going to give me $4,100 and I keep the car with a clean title. NOw its time to plan out my project. Thanks for all the replies..

Salvage turns into rebuilt once it's inspected, most of the time

+1. My friend profited bigtime from doing that.
