having a miss/sputter at high RPMs? here is your solution:

Clean you shit! and tape up the coilpacks.

hair line cracks like this is all it takes to let your shit arch and make a miss:

but while you are at it, take out the springs, and pull off the plastic boot from the coilpack.
you will be left with something like this:

see how nasty it looks? take a dremmel with a wire attachment and clean your coilpack like this:

Holy hell it was made of brass!

after all is said and done, put it back together, and toss on some high grade (yes i know it is like $8 a roll at the electrical place, but you need the high temp good stuff) electrical tape wrap on the coilpacks like so:

it may look like shit, but mine has lasted months, going on a year. should last multiple years if all goes well.

and just like magic your engine runs better than ever.

the end. Credit goes to skylines austrailia, although it took me days to find this and haven't be able to find the link since so they really suck at indexing.

This does work.

I never went as far as removing the spring though. nice touch! Also you can use the liquid e-tape as well.

A+

How about using those liquid electrical tape thing? Figured those would work better at sealing the crack wouldnt it?

Can this same thing be done to SR coil packs?

I don't see why it couldn't be done to a SR coilpack. The problem with the liquid is that you need a high temp silicone, or it will jsut melt and drip out (sees over 200deg temps on the norm)
