Ok So my cars been immobile for some time now and I've finally gotten around to solving all the problems. The cars a '92 240 with an RB25DET btw. The car started blowing fuses left and right and then stopped running all together. Had it sent to three semi local shops and they all said they couldn't do anything with it; Saying the wiring harness doesn't belong to the car, there are computers missing, and stuff has been stolen from the car. (Extra plugs on harness). Ignorance is bliss? Not quite.
Anyway, I went through the harness and found a couple of bad connections (Soldered but bare.) This was work of a previous owner, not me so no flaming. I repaired all the damage on the harness and still nothing. I yank the ecu and find something interesting inside. Is this my source of problems? Enough damage to prevent start up? Any help is appreciated.

is it not obvious?

It sounds like an electrical problem rather than an ecu issue, but there's only one way to find out, get another rb25 ecu, replace the fuses and try to crank it.

Reborn. You say "is it not obvious" as if you have the solution to all my problems. Clearly I can see that the ecu has received a blow. My problem is that I dont know if it is "enough damage to prevent start up" or if my start up problems may reside elsewhere. I plan to hook up another ecu, but I have no where to turn for a quick swap-n-check here where I live so I have to order an ecu. I don't want to shell out the cash and then fry another ecu upon startup. I have repaired the harness and plan to replace all relays and fuses. To everyone experienced in this; should this be enough to make me feel comfortable with a startup?

That can make your car not starting up.

Does your car power on with that ecu?

You can take the ecu replacement route, but if there is something wrong with the harness, chance is that you will blow it again. So get experts like wiring specialist to check on the harness maybe a better move for you.

id send your harness off to Wiring specialties and have yury insprct your harness

but yeah that ECU is toast

ECU seems pretty bad..but if you want to check wires get yourself a voltmeter and let the testing begin :D
