I weight the wing, it is about 10 - 13 pounds.
Will I lose a noticeableperformance on that ? NO.
Why did I put it on ? I LIKE IT.
Would that help stablize that car ? YES when I am driving at 100mph on parkway. There is a lot of mod that you can do to the wing to increase downforce, especially on the angle.
Most people just think that wing is RICE and useless because they appear on "Gay and the Curious" and on lots of Hondas. If my wing was a Cwest carbon fibre GT spoiler , would you ask me to take it off ? I actually hold it in my hand when I was in HK at a performance store, but it still weight a lot.
As most people are talking about quatermile times, that cool and fine to me. But I prefer my car to perform better in handling rather than straight line speed.

SR20DET would make me feel better... So would about $2000 worth of other mods... IMO the wing is to much for me BUT! if you like it then more power to ya! It all about the way you feel about your car and if it feels good i say do it. So if it was my self no on the wing but for you I hope you like it. ;-)

Have you had your car in a wind tunnel? Yeah I thought so. That wing is the whole meaning of rice, it's just gross, you don't need it and it would'nt do anything (if it in fact did do anything) til you were into speeds that your car can't acheive yet or should achieve on public roads regularly. I really don't care though your the one that looks like a moron but don't worry you'll out grow this trend in a few years/monthes. But don't try to make it seem like it do's anything for performance.

Let's see here a researched carefully set up race car, or your universal bought out of the back of a mag spoiler, hhhmmmmm which one actually doe's something. By the way do you have 400HP? Yeah you don't and until you actually do you can't really say anything like that cause everyone has sometype of "plan". I allready said I don't care if you like it just don't try to say you get any actual performance from it, thats all.

Dont hate on eachother you both drive the car we all think is kick a**. So just let it go. Yes the wing is of no use right now but maybe it will be later and yes the wing IMO is a little on the well "rice" side but who cares he likes it, you dont . Good enough eh?

Nobody is "hating" on anyone, just cause two people are conversing about something people are all uptight about does'nt mean were fighting.

Getting back to the subject, it doesn't really matter what you have on your car. Spend the money on racing school if you want to race - the best mod is always a good driver.

about that whole stability at 100+ mph comment, i've been up around 115mph a couple times, and i can say the car was far more stable than i expected, i have the stock spoiler
conclusion......a good suspension with tires built for such tasks along with a proper alignment will do more than a 9ft high adjustable wing that is designed to shave off hundreths of a second on a RACE TRACK (which you do not drive on)

check the insides of you're tires, they're probably pretty worn, that's a lot of negative (i'm assuming it's not positve, cause that would be just plain wierd) camber
btw; i am in no way saying that he should take the wing off if he likes it. i'm just making a point that it's probably not doing him as much good as he thinks it is. unless you're constantly on a race track, or live in europe, wings should be considered for cosmetic purposes only. saying a wing gives you better grip is like saying an intake will allow you to smoke a 911. while it may help some, you're problems lie far deeper.

Well said, B <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
I've got a pack of people who could take an underpowered FF car around the track WAAAAY faster than any of us could hope to take a coilovered, boosted, winged 240. Racing is about driving, not parts. Actually, for a beginner, go fast parts are more likely to get you in trouble than make you go faster.

ca18, those gt wings do help in upward speeds of 80. In stock suspension, you can actually feel the back gets lower. 911 does the same thing i think.. at 65..
not that I have wings like that..
