ksport hydro ebrake diy install - z33

dont have a 240 anymore; so i'll be playing with my 350z...
here's a basic write up.


- brake lines fabbed
- mount bracket fabbed
- ksport bolted down
- lines ran
- line brackets fabbed and mounted


ran out of light; didnt have time to install the lines and bleed the system; next week.

mount bracket:
a 1/4" piece of 8x5 aluminum that i found around my dad's house; good to have a father that use to be a commercial shrimper :)


ss brake lines:
IN -7/16"unf 90* bend with a 90" m12x1 - 6' of line
OUT - 3/8"unf 90* bend with a 90" m12x1 - 7' of line

Is the handle position adjustable? I would not want it in the "down position" for racing. Easier to grab it if its vertical.

thanks guys, please stay up to date with the original post...im not done yet, I havent had a chance toinstalled the lines and bleeded the system because of work...

1. What seat is that?
2. Are you still going to use the stock Ebrake
3. Once you plumb the new line into the MC and Reservoir, does that replace that 1 hard line?

i know its been a while, but i have to sort thru my cam and get all the pics and edit them and generate a worthy diy write up.


but to answer your questions:
1. splparts.com bucket seat(discontinued)
2. no stock ebrake and ALL hardware have been removed.
3. yes, the custom ss line will replace ONE of the hardlines.



i'll have everything posted up by the end of this week

***UPDATE***

last update was nov. 18 2010, i've driven the car daily...drove it to houston on nov. 28 for a drift event, drove home, and have been driving and having fun with the car ever since. I'm from new orleans...


***important bleeding proceedure***
since the last update, all i did was bleed the system according to fsm, but before then, i had to unbolt the ksport and flip it right side up so that no air would be trapped in the master when bleeding.


before driving to houston, all i did was secure the lines with some radiator hosing so that they wouldnt rubb n cheff after some time.

also removed all of the oem ebrake parts.

lines is standard ss teflon coated brake lines made by local speed shop.

Im actually looking into getting one of these.. so from looking at the pictures... you just replace 2 of the lines with this brakes lines ??? Or do you have to have some sort of way to get them to tap into the brake lines? The photos of the installation of the lines them selves didnt have an after photo of finished so im just sort of lost on that part.

no, you have to get custom lines made,

the custom lines and the ebrake connect to make one whole flow. With the ebrake being in the middle bridging both the lines(one in and one out line).

you do not tap into your oem lines at all.

Just to be clear, bleeding procedure is exactly the same as regular pedal procedure? You didn't pump the hydro ebrake at all?
