Holy shit I need this information! I've been scouring the internet and taking parts to hardware stores and performance shops trying to identify the threads on the coolant drain plug. They are close to 12mmx1.25 but not quite. The drain plug itself is tapered leading me to believe it adheres to some sort of metric pipe thread standard, which of course is nearly impossible to find or identify. The threads on the plug range from about 11.8mm to something just over 13mm The pitch of the plug is hard to ID because it's tapered. A 12mm x 1.25 bolt will fit losely into the drain plug hole on the block. The threads will engage and it can be screwed in, however, my aluminum 12x12.5 to AN fitting completely disentigrated inside the hole when I tightened it down. Of course I didn't know this and had put everything back together by the time I discovered the watefall of coolant from the area.
Before I drill and tap my block for US standard threads and completely ruin my KA, does anyone know or has anyone used the drain plug for coolant supply?
