1/4 record t-2 turbo stick car on 93 octane!

so i have been searching for a few years now and have yet to see a 240 on 93 octane and a gt28 turbo run times. 2 weeks ago a member on here said that it is impossable for me to do with my turbo. well here is my set up and a pic of the time slip. Think this maybe me some kind of record.

GT2876R internally wastegated
800cc injectors
world technology's boost controller on 18psi
300zx manual trans
1.5 way carbonetics diff
600hp dds axles (broke one the second pass of the day)

Car made 380whp/385tq on M-A motorsports dyno, tuned by ray on a power fc d-jetro.

Weighed in at 2550 on friday with me in it (150 lbs) and a half tank of gas.

stock suspension with aluminum sub-frame spacers.
275/60/15r mickey thompson et streets on a 15x10.5 weld wheel.

yeah thats dark imports. that car is a piece for what it should be, he has a 1jz with a 76mm turbo and nitrous in an automatic and his best time ever is 9.9 one time the rest of his passes are junk.

You'd be surprised, my car saw 23 mph on the top end, and making a little less hp. 2871r cars really fly once you get the charger lit making some boost. Also don't forget the difference in rear gear as well

yeah not many drag racers on here. only 2 240's were at the event I was running in on saturday/sunday. It was a major event too. I know that there is a video out there from right behind the car at the starting line that i am trying to get a hold of.

yeah it is 380 at 18 psi. i could make more power if I went to an external gate or cut and reweld the internal gate. but my 800cc injectors are also maxed too.

like I said, brian and ray from M-A motorsports can confirm everything about this car. I told them about it on monday and they said "HOLY SHIT" lol. no nitrous, no meth, no race gas. just turbo

You should have no problem making 12's. I was at an event this summer and a guy running a pretty much stock SR20 was running high 12's.

I recall Greaser running 10's with about 350hp a few years ago in an S13. It's ALL about the 60' time in drag racing (that is, as long as you have at least 300hp or so). I recall he advised running old blown stock shocks in the rear for maximum weight transfer.

Suspension tuning is the less sexy, less talked about yet most important part of running great times. Everyone wants to chase big dyno numbers for bragging rights and that helps sell parts...

its not b/s, ill tell you that. also have to remember that the car is internal wastegate. some really good driving, thats pretty much it.

yeah, im running stock suspension except for subframe spacers. thats it. weight transfer is key. the car is all 60'. plus i dont run bull shit parts either. its all top of the line shit. so that does help a little bit lol

You guys have any suggestions on launching method like feathering throttle and clutch while holding at 3,000rpm? I'm running a Spec Stage 3 6 puck/sprung clutch so it feels light like stock. I also have 245/45/17 Falken RT-615 tires. My tire pressure is set to 35psi.

get some drag raidials and if your free reving, hold at about 5 and slip it fast and go w.o.t. at the same time. also would help if you knew what mods and power you have. should get a 2 step or launch controll.

I'm liking the sound of that! I mean the car feels semi-violent when I'm gassing it in 2nd gear. 1.7 to 1.8 60' is sounding realistic for me with limited practice and not ideal setup. As far as drifting goes the major difference with my car is the suspension has limited travel since I'm lowered on coilovers and stiffly sprung. I have a fairly conservative alignment too so my car should be good "all around" for spirited street driving, drifting, etc.

Update: I finally went to Atco today for a baseline run. No changes whatsoever as I mentioned above. It was sort of warm out in the mid 80s easily. The car still has pollen and grass on it from neglect smh. My best run was only 12.9 @114mph. RT was 0.076 but my 60' was only 2.2. I staged at 3,500 rpm and bogged. On a later run I staged at 4,500 rpm and just spun the tires for a 13.6. I'm not happy until I'm in solid 12's like you all say I should! Tips and pointers are appreciated!

If you want to go drag strip, use slicks. With regular street tires you will spun.

Yessir, been a while since I actually drove on the strip ~5yrs or so. I've had over a hundred passes on my old maxima, but a total of 3 passes on my S13 lol. Hopefully I'm here to stay when it comes to any kind of racing...

those axles are pieces of shit, everyone who has them says they break, I'm super reluctant to even buy one of their drive shafts because the axles keep getting shitty reviews from people.

Here's a vid of my worst run. 13.6 @113mph. Sorry it's not my 12 second pass. I was trying to launch more aggressively but ended up spinning like crazy instead. An adjustment will be needed for next time. Anyhow, enjoy!

Sorry I didn't know people brought this thread back up. We ran into a problem when we sent the intercooler piping out to get welded. It was messured wrong. There are pics up on my facebook page of it. Shit looks pretty sick. All the parts are in. We were trying to have it ready for import revolution this weekend a budds creek but it won't happen. I also have a build tread on Ma240sx.net. It is a local forum cause haters got my shit shut down on this forum. It will deff make your pee pee at least a semi when you look at it. I'll see what I can do to get the pics up on here later tonight from work. We have a lot of restrictions on these comps.

Fuck, I can't beleive it. Its been 3 years already. My dreams of running 10's has not been happening. I tried to go strip everyyear. All I manage is breaking the driveline, transmission, clutch, differential. To save my driveline, I went with street tires to the strip. I just spinning all the time. Like drifting in straight line. Manage to get 9.0 at 88 mph in the 1/8, 2.5 60 foot.

Everything was parted out and the shell was sold.
The new owner is trying to sell the motor, he needs money for personal reasons.

New project is my z32 with a rb25 swap. Nothing fast, just stock with a couple bolt ons. Still miss this car.
