He told me it has A knock going on under the hood. rod knock maybe? If so IMO the car should go 3000 just to cover getting it home and motor swap!

No offense to the OP but that's actually pretty high. I understand these are sought after cars (I actually own one) but the retail on these is $4k with 100k less miles.

Now, having said that, I love the 240s and even paid a little too much for mine but damn that drift tax!! LoL

GLWS though. It is hard to find to find a clean S14 so you can probably get close to that (dependent on what that knock is, but quite likely a VTC sprocket issue).

That is a great price! Stock automatics with peeling clearcoat go for $3500 in my area!

Alright let me clear some of this up...

No rod knock. i know what rod knock is and this is not it. the "issue" is the timing chain that whines a little thats all. this is due to the plastic chain guides wear. absolutely no rod knock fellas.

Its also a stock 5 speed.

the paint is not peeling or fading. its actually fairly new.

i hope this clears some theories floating around in this thread. And thanks for all the offers i know the bb value but take in consideration the s15 front and the other things.

So why did the guy in San Diego say the same thing? LoL. Relax there happy...

The knock could be the VTC too, OP. I've heard of that sprocket causing some of those noises. Easy enough fix too. Either replace the sprocket or put an S13 sprocket in and bypass VTC altogether.

And not sure if you noticed there Singlecam, but this is a national site. People can find shells from "somewhere in bumfuck" if they really wanted to. Paying "top dollar" for a 15 year old car is kind of crazy.

I can understand the front-end conversion pulling some extra and, as I said, I think he'll probably get close to that even though it's a bit high. GL and here's the second free bump! :lol:
