so heres my pos that im hoping to run some pro-am and xdc events with next season as long as i finish it in time... started with a barely rolling shell and pretty much going to be re-working it from there.
started with a shell i picked up for a couple hundred bucks:

then ordered a chaser 1jz/r154 motorset from zerolift, along with their mounts and driveshaft, and picked up some jdm s14 kunckles/5lug/brakes:

did timing belt, tensioner, 2jz waterpump, cam seals, front/rear main seals, valve cover gaskets, and painted the valve covers this hideous purpleish/red which i will eventually change and probably get powder coated.

from there, stripped the rest of the engine bay, sprayed it, and got my turbo and manifold for the 1j, along with a set of mb weapons, a billet fuel rail and 650cc injectors from kinsler fuel injection, and some other odds and ends for the car.
which sort of brings me up to where the car sits today.

Im hoping for somewhere in the region of 400-450whp on the stock motor for at least next season, then ill go back in and do a mhg, cams, and valvesprings, add more boost, and shoot for around 550ish
and now i get to wait to buy more parts until i start at my new job... cant spend money when youre not making it lol.

Cool to see another 1JZ S13 on the site.
Might have to share some info/ideas down the line.
Nice welds!
Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the points have to connect to the rear strut towers??
*EDIT*
According to the posts below the cage is FD/XDC legal.
When I looked at the pictures initially it appeared as if the cage tied into the bar that went between the strut towers. Now I see that it goes all the way to the rear of the car...

Interesting so far. Nice welds by the way, I wish I was handy enough (or had the balls) to weld...

thanks for all the comments guys, this is the third s13 ive caged. on the other cars i plated the inside of the strut towers and tied the rear of the cage into the cross bar that goes between them... which ive heard is now not worthy of passing fd/xdc tech. so i went the route of plating and tieing the rear of the cage into where the "frame rails" are about 2 inches forward of where the rear bumper bracket bolts are. i like this design better (espeically on a hatch) because it helps stiffen up the chassis more than going to the strut towers.
i have my 3rd interview for a job im hoping to get here in about an hour, so hopefully ill be back to buying parts for this thing sooner than later.

imho, the toyota jz series engine is an awesome choice for the s-chassis... I have a feeling that they are going to become more and more popular as time goes on.
in other news, got word today from potential job that the position was filled by someone getting promoted inside the company... so im out on the prowl once again :/
and I like my truck chad haha, i feel like a redneck baller in my wannabe bro truck, plus ive gotta have something to tow this thing once its finished.
