On Wednesday night I was hit on the expressway by a guy who fell asleep at the wheel. He hit me and then I went into the wall. Spent a while in the hospital to make sure i was ok and today I brought the car home. I just put on Apexi N1 coilovers 2 weeks ago.. I really hope they are ok. I'm planning on getting another S13 hatch next spring. For now I drive a minivan :D

glad ur alright!... however i don't think you are going to be able to say the same for your N1's. with the strut tower bar bent like that, i can't see how they would not be bent. Best of luck!

Unfortunately I don't think I'm gonna get paid. My insurance was the bare minimum for Michigan and they have the whole no-fault thing going. I highly doubt the guy that hit me had insurance although I'll find out. I bet I get screwed left and right out of this.
I don't think the insurance company will want the car or anything in it since my insurance was only covering me to drive on the road, nothing in the car is covered except for my personal body and the body of the person driving the other car.

In case anyone cares.. I pulled the coilovers and the only damage I can see is the passenger side bracket is bent. I'm going to send them out to Apexi to be looked over and have the bracket replaced and I should be good to go for my next S13 :D

Dude...glad you are ok...I bet her parents were none too happy...you either made friends for life or you won't be dating her anymore..
Coilovers can take a whipping...bet they are a-ok...as far as the rest of the car...try to keep her at home....you evidently got a good 12V KA there and tranny, and diff...plus all kinds of great rear sus parts and interior parts. So much there that at least you can part it out and get DP money on another ride or transplant some of your stuff to the next car.
No..if you were above the speedlimit and did not fall back behind...then it goes to bad judgement call. We cant fly by the seat of our pants, we gotta anticipate azzholes at every turn. I avoid at least 2 or 3 situations per week on the expressway due to staying the hell away from everyone and never crowding a situation. Better if you see some BS bunching up to hit the shoulder, get off the road and stop and wait for stuff to die down..not preaching..but I make unexpected exits and turns and move overs that I would normally not make due to vibe.
I was driving a date around last weekend and I turned on a road that we were not going to go down...she said where you going...I said I had a bad vibe about taking that other exit since it is "hairy" most of the time...
Just be settle and glad you guys made it through that ordeal.

First of all, glad you're okay.
Second, I know how that **** feels... I smooshed my car not too long ago (not NEARLY as bad but it did get damaged) and let me tell you, it sucked balls.
I'd definitely do what Bill said, take the car apart and sell what you don't need, and keep the rest... you can transfer stuff to your other car, and maybe make enough on the rest of the parts to purchase a blown 240SX and swap the motor over with only a few hundred out of your pocket. (Out here you can find blown 240's for like $900)
Take care dude

That's the plan.. I've began pulling things and I'll probably pull a lot of things "just in case". I have a rustless, wingless, wiperless trunk lid.. I think that's something to keep for the next car :D
