I was driving and suddenly the tone in my motor changed to like a pissed of Subaru so I pulled over in sams club parking lot and checked stuff out, motor has no knock or tick but shakes a lot, so I gave it some gas and upon taking my foot off the gas it begun to backfire, pulled each plug at a time and you can see the difference in the motors reaction until I pulled one and made no difference, which is making me think the car has a dead cylinder thus causing the backfire because the fuel in the 4th cylinder is not being burnt?
I'm about to get new plugs, wires cap and rotor to see if this solves the problem, if anyone got some thought if it can be something different please let me know.

Ill bet $1000 that its the injector for that cylinder. Super common problem.

yeah. that should take care of it.. if not, look towards the injector for that cylinder. its most likely on the ignition side though considering the backfire.

Hit the button hard! I started to unplug injectors to cylinders and each time i unplugged one the motor ran faulty, that is until I got to #4 Thank you much and +1:bow:
By the way autozone duralast is durashit! The cap they gave me soes not match and the plugs were hoping to be a quick fix, picking up the injector now and returing everything but a rotor since that is the only thing that fit.
*edit* So is replacing an injector rather simple? It looks simple but often looks can be scary.

So wheres my $1000? hahaha
Glad you got it figured out. Ive never replaced an injector on my 240, but on other cars ive done it on, it was pretty straight forward. Hardest part is getting it all the way down and making sure the grommet doesnt get effed up. If its not on right, itll leak, and youll smell gas right away when standing over the motor. Make sure youre confident that its seated properly before starting the car back up.

Yep, autozone sucks. Had a similar problem on my friends 89 blazer about a week ago. new cap and rotor(told him not to go to autozone but he did) and after about 10 seconds of running the duracrap rotor broke off the distributor and ate itself alive along with the cap. Oreilly's has been great to me thus far, used to go to napa but I'd say oreilly's has at least as good of parts and napa batteries blow.
Anywho, injectors are pretty easy, just have to be careful with the seals making sure everything is just right.

Lubricate the seal before putting it in so it doesnt tear. Or get new seals but still lubricate them.
