ok i think its time for a new o2 sensor, but instead of getting a new o2 sensor, isn't there a way to just run the signal wire from my ECU to my wideband? and would it only be 1 wire from my ecu to my wideband?
if so, which color wire on my wideband would i run the wire from my ECU too?

damn, guess not?

What's the point? Eventually you'll have to replace the wideband sensor too. These things don't last any longer than a normal o2 sensor would... Also I'm not even sure if it would work if you have a Redtop ecu because it reads from a Titania sensor not Zirconia sensor which reads voltages like the blacktop ECU and most wideband signals.

i dont think your ecu will pick up a wideband o2 sensor

i have a black top WC ecu, and damn, if it not a common thing to do, i guess i'll just get a new o2. i'de just rather replace my wideband, enstead of having to worry about replacing both my wideband and o2.

Stock O2 sensor only puts out 0-1 volt. Wideband is 0-5 volts. It won't work unless there is some sort of adapter and amplifier out there, but I really doubt it...

Wideband replacement sensors will cost you more to replace than a bosch sensor from autozone. Unless you are still in the process of tuning your car I'd just pop the wideband sensor out, plug it up and put it back in whenever you are upgrading / adding new parts. Once your car is running fine and you are getting consistent AFR readings, no sense in keeping it in there. Just my 2 cents.

it depends on the wideband you use/select
for example
PLX m300 has 0-5V wideband outputs and also 0-1v output
so you would be able to wire the 0-1v narrowband output directly to the ecu and elimate the factory o2 and just use your wideband in the bung

damn! yeah i have the AEM wideband, and i'm pretty sure that only has the 0.5v output? am i correct?

Heat is the main destroyer of wideband sensors unless u have the AEM unit then well...
I purchased a spare 3yrs ago still haven't replaced the original yet. 02 sensors are fairly cheap if you search, know the model and design, don't look for sr20 or whatever in your searches unless money is not an issue.
I used the output from my PLX wideband on my Red top, didn't really notice a difference so i installed a titania 02 sensor from some egay store.
